This is a meditation to manifest emotional awareness and to help us act vs react.
A lot of the times,
Especially now more than ever,
We may be hearing the phrase emotional intelligence.
Sometimes that can be a trigger word for some individuals because we sometimes tend to use it in insults.
You don't have the emotional intelligence for this conversation.
Or you don't have emotional intelligence.
It's true.
Everyone's variation of emotional intelligence varies and can be different depending on where the conversation goes and how one wishes to be acknowledged.
This tool helps us realize and recognize our own emotions.
So that intense conversation,
In moments of panic,
In moments of dealing with our outer world,
We can better understand what's happening within the layers of our inner world and the depths of who we are so that we may act vs react and therefore manifest and embody who we wish to be every step of the way.
So with that,
Take a comfortable seated position or lie on down.
Take a nice big deep inhale and exhale.
Breathing in and sighing out.
And from here,
Begin to notice the breath.
Notice how you're breathing and where the breath may be traveling to.
Is it traveling to the chest and then releasing?
Are you taking deep belly breaths?
Are you sending the breath to an area of the body?
Simply take the moment to acknowledge how you are breathing.
Begin to notice the physical sensations within the body.
Begin to notice how the breath and the physical sensations may be dancing in tandem.
How does the breath affect the physical body?
How does the physical body affect the breath?
Bring awareness without shame,
Guilt,
Just observing as if you are observing fish swimming in a pond.
And then begin to notice your thoughts.
Begin to notice your emotions around these thoughts.
And begin to label the emotions in one word,
A phrase,
Or a song.
Past,
Future,
Happy,
Peaceful.
Simply take time labeling every thought and emotion as it comes up.
Begin to understand again as if you are observing a work of art.
What is happening?
How does this affect your breathing?
How does this affect your physical body?
How do all of these dance together in a woven tapestry of experience?
And from here,
Can you begin to think a word that brings you pleasure and joy and notice how consciously thinking this word may change the breath,
May change the physical sensation within the body,
May change how your thoughts are moving?
From here on,
Can you begin to understand how fish,
Fish belongs?
Breathe on in and sighing it out.
Notice that you are in absolute and complete and total control of your life.
Though people may throw emotions at you,
By taking a moment to be aware of the inner layers,
We can better understand our reactions and instead choose to act,
Choose to acknowledge and choose to be compassionate with ourselves.
From here,
Set an intention for yourself based on what you are experiencing and how you are feeling.
Set an intention from this place of authenticity to act first react.
Now that this intention is set,
You are taking the power back into your own hands and may you use this newfound awareness to navigate through your day regardless of any universal curveballs that are thrown your way.
You have everything you need to live your life and be open to all the good things that are awaiting you.
I hope this meditation has served you to not only build awareness,
But build tools to manifest action.
First reaction.
Let everything else go and go live your intention,
My friend.
Blessings and Namaste.
