Hello and welcome to your morning journal with me,
Keziah Gibbons.
We're going to keep things simple with just three journaling prompts,
Enough to get you aware and intentional,
But not so much as to overwhelm you.
For each prompt,
Try to write at least three sentences.
This rule can be helpful when you don't know where to start.
Just write something,
Anything.
Three sentences long.
Which will be enough to stimulate your prefrontal cortex and align you with what matters to you.
Okay,
So let's go.
Here are your three journaling prompts.
Number 1 What's the most important thing to you today?
This might be something you need to do,
A way you'd like to show up.
A relationship you'd like to prioritise.
Whatever it is,
Just identify it.
And if you'd like to elaborate,
You might acknowledge why it's important or how you plan to make sure it stays your top priority over the course of the day.
This will help you to choose where to put your attention today.
And at the end of the day,
As long as you've stopped your most important thing,
That is a successful day.
How are you feeling as you embark on this day?
This is a great check-in just to be aware of yourself and depending on how used you are to identifying your own emotions in the moment can be more or less easy.
If you're comfortable with and can name your emotions,
That's great.
Just use your journal to process them consciously.
If this is less easy for you,
My number one tip is to start with big chunk namings such as good,
Bad or neutral.
If that's all you can manage,
That's enough.
But you may find that as you practice this,
You start to add nuance to those emotions.
Whatever you find and however you're feeling,
Take a moment to honour that.
It's all valid.
It's all okay.
In having taken this time to turn awareness on how you are.
Gives you more choices about how you react later in the day.
And finally,
What are you most grateful for today?
Remember,
This can be anything or anyone.
It can be the same as yesterday or something new.
You can elaborate on this.
With why you're grateful and how you'd like to express your gratitude,
It's all up to you.
Thanks for taking the time to do the morning journal with me.
I hope to practice with you again tomorrow,
And in the meantime,
Take care.
Wish you the most wonderful day ahead.
