In our world of human concerns and constructed society, we have become caught in the illusion of separateness from nature. But this is not the truth; we belong to nature. We are nature. In this practice, come home to that truth as you recognize your place in this world, as part of nature. For theoretical input and a more shamanic version of this practice, check out Keziah's Sacred Earth Healing course here on Insight Timer.

So begin by being aware of the space around you,

Noticing your breathing,

Allow it to be easy,

In and out.

And as you breathe out,

Can you find the place where it ceases to be your breath and just becomes air?

As you breathe in,

Can you find the place where the air becomes your breath?

Through your breath,

You are connected to all air.

Aware of all the other beings who are also connected to all air.

The plants breathing in your out-breath and breathing out your in-breath,

Air in the skies,

The land,

The oceans.

Aware of yourself as part of the ecosystem.

Aware now of the matter of your body.

Breathing into your physical experience,

That felt sense of being in your body.

And remembering the last thing you ate.

And wondering if you can find the place where that last thing you ate became a part of you,

Of your physical experience.

And aware that we do release waste matter and shed skin and release parts of our bodies and our matter all the time.

And however it is treated,

Those parts that were once of our body go back into the ecosystem where they interact with other beings.

And when we die and our bodies are broken down,

Our matter and our energy is given back to the earth in one way or another.

Sensing your place in this ecosystem.

Aware of water,

The water in the oceans,

In the springs,

In the clouds,

In the rain,

In your tap,

In your body.

Cycling round,

In and out,

Now part of you,

Now part of not you,

Always part of nature as you are always part of nature.

And if you are a parent,

Bringing to mind those times,

That feeling when you have snuggled your young one,

Inhaled their scent,

Breathed with them,

Full of love and care and the fierce need to protect.

Resonating with the tiger with their cubs,

The bear with their young,

The whale who travels the whole ocean with their calf,

The chimpanzee with their little one and knowing yourself to be just another animal in the rich tapestry of earth.

And if you are a lover,

Bringing to mind those times,

That feeling as you embrace your lover,

Revelling in their touch,

Their presence,

The chemistry between you.

Resonating with the stag who bellows their passion,

The flower who exalts their pollen,

The multi-plumaged bird dancing for their mate.

And know yourself to be just another being in the rich ecosystem of the earth.

Sensing inwards now to your nature,

Your nature that is nature.

This awareness that you too have a place of this earth,

That you too exist as part of all that is.

And feeling the joy and the seriousness of that.

And holding this experience,

Holding this awareness,

So that at those times when you might feel more separate,

You can recall this feeling,

This knowing,

And come back to this awareness of yourself as part of life.

Sensing all the other beings in this web of life,

Sending them some love.

Aware of all the other beings sharing this practice with you.

Sending them some love.

And allowing yourself to receive some of that love too.

Giving thanks for existing and for all that is.

And then releasing the practice.

So letting go of any visualization.

Releasing your intention.

Allowing any leftover energy to dissipate.

Trusting it to find its right place in the ecosystem.

That's our practice for today and feel free to come back to it whenever you want.

Have a wonderful rest of your day.
