Hello,
Beautiful ones.
Welcome to this woodland sleeping meditation.
To begin with,
Go ahead and get comfortable in your bed or wherever you're going to be wanting to take this blissful slumber.
Laying your head gently on the pillow,
Placing your arms by your sides or wherever feels comfortable to you,
Pulling the covers up or doing whatever you need to do to feel comfortable and easy.
Feel free to move around to make yourself comfortable as much as you need to.
Let's begin by just focusing on something,
If you're laying on your back,
Perhaps a spot on the ceiling,
And just focus on something that you can see even a little bit in the dimness and just notice how your eyes begin to adjust to the dimness of the light.
And then take a nice deep breath in,
And on the exhale,
Just allow your eyes to close.
And then just breathe in whatever way feels good to you,
Finding your breath in your body,
The rise and the fall,
Or the in and the out,
The way the air feels as it enters and exits your nose.
And just really notice this rhythm of your breathing.
And as you just continue to breathe comfortably and easily,
Bring your attention to your body.
And starting at the top of your head,
Come down into your forehead and in round your eyes,
And down around your mouth and your jaw,
And just noticing how that part feels.
Coming down to the back of your head,
Noticing your head as it rests against your pillow.
Down into your neck and your shoulders,
Shifting as you need to to release any tension or tightness.
Noticing your arms and your hands,
Noticing your torso,
Your back as it rests against your bed,
Or perhaps you're a side sleeper,
Noticing that connection with your bed.
Down into your belly and your hips and your pelvic floor,
Bringing awareness to your legs,
Your upper legs,
Your knees,
Your lower legs,
All the way down into your feet.
Just getting a general sense of your body and shifting around and allowing your body to relax as much as it wants to with each exhalation you take.
And then noticing any sounds around you,
Tuning into them for a moment.
And then just allowing them to fade into the background,
To just become a part of your experience.
And then bring to your mind's eye,
To your imagination,
A beautiful path through the woods,
Just when it's just starting to get a little bit dusky outside,
There's still some light.
And as you begin to walk on the path,
You can feel your feet.
Perhaps there's some sticks or some twigs crunching underneath your feet.
Or maybe the forest floor is a soft carpet of pine needles.
But as you walk,
You can just feel your feet connecting with the solid ground.
And as you take in your surroundings,
As you walk on this path,
Perhaps you can see some underbrush.
You can see some trees in the trunks of the trees.
And as you look up,
You can see the leaves and a little bit of light that's left in the sky,
Just coming through the leaves.
And perhaps as you listen,
You can hear some woodland animals scurrying,
Getting ready to go to bed for the night.
And perhaps you can just hear some birds in the distance as they begin to settle in for the night as well.
And as you're walking,
The swinging of your arms and your feet firmly on the ground,
You begin to notice a feeling of tiredness.
Perhaps it's been a long day and you're just starting to get a little sleepy.
And as you continue to walk,
You see a little bit of a clearing.
There's some nice grass surrounded by trees on one side and a little lake on the other side.
And so you just sit down for a moment in this clearing.
And perhaps as sometimes happens in magical meditations,
You might have a backpack that has a tent or maybe just a bedroll,
Whatever feels good to you.
You can imagine yourself pitching your tent with ease if you'd like as the day light begins to fade.
Or perhaps you're a person who would just like to lay on a bedroll underneath the sky.
And so whichever,
As you get comfortable in your tent or on your bedroll,
Laying down and just allowing your body to sink in,
Knowing that the ground is firmly supporting you and You can notice the smells,
The grass,
The richness of the debris of leaves and twigs and pine needles.
Perhaps you can smell the water in the lake and just noticing the smells around you.
And then taking a look around,
You can begin to see how the shadows of the trees change as the last of the sun disappears from the sky.
And you can begin to see the sky darkening.
And as you look up,
You begin to notice the moon coming up behind the trees.
You can see the shadows and the light that it creates as it goes through the leaves and the branches and the trees.
And as you look over to the lake,
You can see how the gentle breeze is making some ripples on the water and the moonlight is dancing on the water,
Feeling very peaceful and easy.
The temperature is just the way you like it.
And as you reach out,
You might be able to feel the grass and feel the gentle breeze perhaps on your face.
And your eyes begin to feel heavy and your breathing slows down and you're noticing the sounds of the woods just kind of closing down,
Settling in for the night.
The birds have gone quiet and all you can hear is the gentle lapping of the water against the edge of the lake.
And you just notice how peaceful and easy it feels right here,
Right now,
With nothing to bother you and nothing to disturb you.
You can feel just the weight and the worries of the day just disappearing,
Melting away,
Feeling yourself just being gently supported by the ground.
Perhaps your arms and your legs feeling heavier with relaxation.
Or maybe they feel light,
Like you're floating.
But just whatever you're feeling is exactly what you need to feel right now.
And as you notice your breathing slowing and noticing the heaviness or the lightness of your limbs,
Hearing that gentle lapping of the water,
You know that there's no place you'd rather be right now than right here in this spot.
Feeling safe and secure and comfortable and easy.
And now you begin to just notice some dreaming,
Some images,
Pleasant ones that'll begin to carry you through this blissful slumber.
And you know that you'll be able to rest peacefully and easily.
And you'll be able to take this time for your body to recharge and rejuvenate and rest so that when you awaken,
You can feel wonderfully rested and ready to start your day.
Good night,
Sweet dreams,
Namaste.
