Hello,

And welcome to this sleepy train ride meditation.

Just settle down into whatever you're lying upon.

Allowing something to support your head gently,

Place your hands somewhere comfortably on your body or down by your sides.

I'd like to guide you into a restful sleep by taking you on a train ride through a beautiful countryside.

Get as comfortable as you can right now.

And at any time along the way,

If you need to reposition yourself to get even more pleasant sleep,

Feel free to do so.

Begin to let go of all the tension that you've built up throughout the day.

Any worries you accumulated seem to lose their power and intensity as you settle in for the night.

Feeling cozy now?

Allow your breath to begin to slow down with each breath you take.

A nice full breath in and slowly exhale.

Take another nice full breath in and allow your body to soften and release on the exhale.

And just breathing now in whatever way feels good to you.

Just observe your mind and how it's thinking about various things in your life and your day.

Observe how perhaps visual of moments flash in your mind.

Or maybe you feel them.

You might be able to hear the sounds that go along with your thoughts.

Just observing,

Being curious as you settle in.

Letting the images from your day fade now and bringing into your imagination that you're walking toward a long train that's parked along the countryside.

The engine of the train is stopped at an old station in the middle of nowhere.

And the long train extends way into the horizon.

You're walking several sessions back and you notice an open train car.

You see the workers getting ready to depart and steam is billowing out from the engine.

You hop on the open car and find it's filled with fresh hay.

You can hear the train whistle blowing and the sounds of distant voices calling all aboard.

You lay down in the hay and it's so perfectly comfortable.

You're positioned in a way that you're gazing out the open door and into nature.

As you sit back waiting for the train to begin to roll,

You look around the train car and notice all the details.

The weather is perfectly mild and soothing.

Perhaps you can sense the smell of hay and the countryside breeze,

Noticing everything as vividly as you can.

Perhaps you feel the slight vibrations as the train powers up and you can hear its mighty engine hissing as it builds enough power to pull the massive weight.

Soothing station bells begin to ring,

Alerting that the train is leaving the station.

As the wagon begins to roll very slowly,

You take a deep breath of relief because you know you're in for a long,

Relaxing,

Soothing ride.

The vibrations under you get stronger because the train is increasing in speed.

You can hear the relaxing sounds of the wheels turning along the tracks.

The station bells get louder as your car passes by the small station in the middle of nowhere and then they pass by and the ringing sounds get fainter and fainter in the distance until you can hear them no longer.

The vibrations under you are strong yet soothing.

They even out into a relaxing hum as the train has reached a safe and steady speed for a long journey.

As you gaze outside,

It's still light,

But it will be sunset very soon.

You can see out both sides of this train car,

Making for the most beautiful views you've ever seen.

You see the ground close to you passing by very quickly and the trees nearby passing a little slower.

And in the distance,

Some rolling mountains are moving by ever so slowly as you ride.

Look out into this nature and really just soak up its beauty.

The sun is beginning to meet the horizon,

Setting behind a soft rolling mountain in the distance.

The colors at this sunset begins to create are breathtaking.

The pinks and the yellows of the sky fade into the bright blue,

Then into the deep blue of the night sky,

Inching in.

The gentle mountain range gives off hues of greens and blues and grays.

The sundown is reflecting colors of purples mixed with oranges now as it dips below the mountains.

Meadows of warm golden colors are passing by every now and then.

And every once in a while,

An old giant oak tree passes you by,

Standing proud in the sprawling fields of gold.

The view is mesmerizing,

And you're not thinking about anything other than the beauty you are witnessing.

You're getting more and more sleepy and more and more grateful for these beautiful moments in the twilight on this sleepy train.

You're becoming very comfortable and ready for a restful night's sleep.

The aura of the sun is slowly fading away,

And the night sky is chasing away the sunset.

Your eyes are becoming heavy with sleep as you watch the day turn into darkness.

The wide meadows have passed by,

And the train is entering into a forest.

The weather cools just a bit,

And you can smell the trees as they close in around the train.

Dark has settled in,

Yet there's a crisp moonlight peeking through the trees as they pass by.

The hum and the resonance of the train are very soothing to you,

Making you even more sleepy.

Your eyes are closed now,

And occasionally you peek them open for just a moment to gaze around the car and the view into nature.

As you drift and float on this dreamy train ride,

You know that sleep restores and heals you.

Nighttime is your time to fully rest and rejuvenate.

A restful night's sleep is approaching,

And you're just along for the ride.

You've done all you needed to do today,

And right now you don't have to do anything but sleep.

Breathing peacefully and easily,

Relaxing your mind and body,

Sleep comes over you naturally and willingly,

And as you become more relaxed and sleepy,

Your body has the time to heal.

Deep and restful sleep is possible,

Letting go of worries and stress.

Your breath is steady and low,

Carrying you into a long night's sleep.

As you become sleepier and sleepier,

Your brain slows,

But your creativity increases,

Letting go of worries or fears.

You can be grateful for the day and grateful that it has now become night.

Now is your time to dream.

Your body feels very heavy and calm.

Your muscles are completely relaxed,

And any tension just fades away.

Your mind is quiet and clear,

And nothing is disturbing you.

Thank your body for this time of rest and relaxation.

Thank your mind for letting go of worries,

Releasing all the thoughts from the day,

Releasing tension,

Feeling grateful for your bed and your pillow,

Feeling calm and full of peace.

Sleep is effortless,

Sleeping soundly so that your mind and body are refreshed and ready to accomplish anything.

Falling asleep,

Drifting and floating,

Not thinking about anything in particular.

Let things come and go,

As things always do.

Sleep is encompassing you now.

The train is taking you along for the long ride to a new beautiful destination when you rise.

So enjoy this time and allow my voice to completely fade away just as the sleepy train rolls along through the wilderness.

Have a good night.

Namaste.
