This meditation is taken from my course, 'Finding Joy in Caregiving.' It is a simple walking meditation within a spiral labyrinth, designed to help the listener relax, center, and find their inner resources of healing nurture, peace and joy. It can be used in times of anxiety and in times of uncertainty when inner healing space is needed to slow down and be still, or to receive guidance and wisdom.

This meditation is condensed from my course on Insight Timer called Finding Joy in Caregiving and is about immersing oneself in nature to relax and come home to yourself again.

If this idea appeals to you,

Then please continue to listen as you will be imagining yourself walking within a spiral-shaped grass labyrinth on bare feet.

So please make yourself comfortable as I guide you to a place of inner nurture within nature.

To begin though,

I would like you to nurture yourself physically by placing your self-care hands flat against your body in a comfortable position.

For example,

One hand might be against your chest and the other hand resting on your thigh,

Or both hands on your abdomen,

Or both hands on the center of your chest,

Or one hand on your chest and one underneath your throat.

Any combination will do.

You choose what you need today.

Just making sure that you have the palm of your hands resting comfortably and gently against your body.

Self-care touch will help you to recapture some of your vital energy as you imagine yourself walking the labyrinth.

So now in complete comfort,

Please take a slow and deep breath into this relaxing position that you are creating for yourself.

And then making any further adjustments that you may need before leaving this thought.

And then see yourself arriving at your destination,

Which is a favorite natural location anywhere in the world.

And then settle into the feeling of this place that is so special for you.

And truly feel in your body-mind the transition you are making into this location now.

Taking in whatever scene is developing for you,

And deeply breathing into what has drawn you to this place today.

Breathing in full awareness and gratitude for being here.

And then allow this feeling to fill your entire being with joy.

And think about this for another moment.

The sensation of your body is so powerful that you can feel the energy and think about this for another moment.

The sensation of joy that you feel naturally here in this place.

Embrace it.

And let the sensation of joy fill you completely.

And take another slower and deeper breath,

Feeling that joy,

Sensation just flowing in your body.

And now within this very special space,

Please imagine you are standing at the entrance to a spiral labyrinth that has simply appeared before you.

And see yourself bending down to remove your shoes or sandals so you can enjoy your walk in bare feet against the grass and how this feels along the soles of your feet.

The spiral labyrinth has been built with small and smooth rocks,

Clearly marking the spiraling pattern of three concentric circles.

The pathway of beautiful green grass between the rocks is stretching out from where you are standing.

It is clear and clear,

And it is a beautiful place.

It is clear,

Simple,

And easy to follow,

Almost calling to you now to enter into its healing space.

But before you take your first step into it,

Please take a moment to focus on the most important challenge today.

And then send a thought or a prayer of gratitude into the labyrinth ahead of you for a healing blessing to comfort you today as you walk into the And now please begin to walk along the pathway of the outer circle of the spiral labyrinth.

With each step,

Feel yourself connecting with the earth beneath the soft green grass against your bare feet.

A sensation of immersing you into a whole new experience of grounding yourself.

A grounding and centering space that is encouraging you to continue walking around the outermost ring of the labyrinth.

The part of the spiral that perhaps represents where you are right now in your life.

You may wish to stop here for a moment just to consider where you are right now in your life.

And to give thanks for this moment.

Continuing on,

Take your time to walk this outer circle,

Giving your mind time to clear and relax into this healing space as you walk.

Feeling the fresh grass beneath your feet as you take each step.

Breathing in its softness easily and comfortably now as you walk.

And connecting with its natural comfort as you focus on your gentle breath.

Pausing again for a slow and cleansing breath.

And feeling your body and mind relaxing as you walk in this healing space.

The large outer ring flows uninterrupted into the second and middle circle of the spiral.

Where the grass feels like velvet against your bare feet as you walk.

Leading you inward on your journey now.

Away from the outer busyness of your life.

And a little closer to your sacred inner home space where your inner peace resides.

Inner peace that gets covered up with the noise of busyness.

And you may wish to pause here for another moment just to consider these words and how they may impact you.

How your own inner peace gets covered up with the noise of busyness.

And continue.

And continue walking again at your own pace.

Enjoying the coolness of the grass against the soles of your feet.

Stopping as you may wish to stop.

Allowing thoughts to rise naturally for you.

Until you come to the innermost circle.

And come to the water.

Stopping again as you approach the innermost ring of the labyrinth,

Sensing what this represents for you now.

Noticing if you are comfortable to answer its invitation to walk into the center of its healing space,

To be welcomed there unconditionally into a sense of being home within yourself,

Fully intact.

The labyrinth patiently waits for you to embrace it in your own time and to be embraced by it.

Please take the time you need now to see yourself responding to this invitation in whatever way is meaningful for you today.

Please take the time you need now to see yourself responding to this invitation in whatever way is meaningful for you today.

Please take the time you need now to see yourself responding to this invitation in whatever way is meaningful for you today.

Please take the time you need now to see yourself responding to this invitation in whatever way is meaningful for you today.

Notice what you are feeling now and how you are feeling at the very center of yourself.

I'll leave you in silence again to privately process the sensation you are having in the labyrinth today.

Or you can simply imagine yourself walking back out the spiral pattern to the entrance again and I will join you there at the exit from the labyrinth in a few minutes.

Please take the time you need now to see yourself responding to this invitation in whatever way is meaningful for you today.

Please take the time you need now to see yourself responding to this invitation in whatever way is meaningful for you today.

And now see yourself returning to your outer home space.

Feeling your support beneath you where you are sitting in your own home.

And notice any emotion you may be feeling now that you are back home again and honor this.

And please honor the thought of inner peace as being an integral part of you,

Of your holistic self.

And deeply breathe this potential for healing peace and joy of peace in the center of your being.

Deeply breathe this potential for healing peace and joy well beyond our meditation time together.

That it may be a part of your life every day.

And take a deep breath into this thought.

Thank you for joining me today.

Please take your time as we end our time together to fully return to your day,

Opening your eyes only as you feel ready,

Acknowledging how you're feeling and what you are feeling in the outer healing space of home that surrounds you now.

And may you always remember to be kind,

Gentle and loving with yourself today and every day.
