Hi everyone,
My name is Jen and I'm here to share a few breathing techniques with you today.
So the whole point of today is that we are going to breathe in a way that's going to give us energy but at the same time reduce any excess anxiety or worry or just bad energy.
So we're going to feed the goods.
Release the stuff that's weighing us down.
Okay.
So with that in mind,
That intention in mind,
Go ahead and find a nice seated position.
Nothing fancy,
Just get comfortable.
If you can,
Rock on.
Your torso back and forth a little bit,
Maybe side to side a little bit,
Just to find a nice tall spine.
Tin,
Tin,
Chin tucked slightly,
And crown the head to the sky.
Beautiful.
And we're going to take a short breathing through the nose and then follow it with a long extended breath as long as you can.
And then we're going to exhale through the mouth.
So.
And bring that breath all the way to the lower belly and then Really slow like you're blowing out a candle.
We're going to do 10 rounds.
Halfway there,
Keep going.
And as you keep going,
See if you can make that breath in a little bit smoother.
That extended exhale,
Just let it be smooth and go as far as you can without overexerting.
And then exhale,
Nice and slow,
Smooth breath.
We'll do one more and if you haven't quite hit 10 yet just take your time getting here.
And then close your eyes if they're not already closed.
And when you get to your 10th breath,
Just let the inhale and exhale happen through the nose naturally,
Easily.
And notice that the natural breath is just a little bit more comfortable,
A little bit deeper.
And we're going to take this now,
This sense of just energy,
But relaxed energy,
And we're going to take this into a short meditation.
So sitting here,
Bringing all your attention to the middle of the forehead,
Just about the eyebrows and between the eyebrows.
And bringing your inner gaze there,
Watching.
Seeing if you can bring all your focus to this internal gaze.
Breathing,
Relaxing.
Sitting tall.
And as we focus here,
I want you to imagine.
That you can bring in the energy that you need with each gentle regular inhale.
And that you can use every exhale to release and metabolize.
What do you no longer need?
What is no longer serving you?
What may otherwise weigh you down?
Just sit here and play with that idea just for a few moments.
The inhales are cleansing,
Enriching,
Energizing in all good ways.
The exhales are gentle releases.
And these exhales can release anything that you're holding in the body.
In the mind,
In the energy body.
Let's see if you can sit just a little bit taller.
We're going to inhale through the nose,
Small and then long.
Inhale just like before.
And exhale through the mouth.
We're going to inhale through the mouth.
One more little sip.
And exhale through the nose.
So it's almost the opposite of what we did before.
Inhale through the mouth.
And then another little sit.
And exhale through the nose.
Feel the heat of the breath coming out.
Eight more.
Last one.
And then inhale through the nose.
Exhale through the nose.
Let the breath go back to its normal cadence.
Again,
Bringing in what you need,
Releasing what you don't.
Notice any shifts in the body.
Notice the energy.
Notice the activation.
Take your time here and when you're ready blink your eyes open.
Take in the light of the room.
Go ahead and shake your hands out,
Shake your legs out if you are seated in a cross-legged position.
And beautiful job.
I hope you have a little bit more energy for your day and you release.
Which you need to release.
I hope to practice with you again soon.
