Welcome to this teaching video.
For costing coins of the eaching.
The I Ching is known as the Book of Changes,
It is filled with wisdom from Daoism.
From stoicism.
And it helps us in our situations that we are going through,
Be it struggles.
Or times of change or when we need guidance of a specific sort.
And there can be confusion or maybe we just want clarity.
And so the system.
.
.
Ancient system.
Helps us actually to access the inner wisdom.
That resides within our holistic design.
It is based on universal principles.
It's using the binary code of Yin Yang.
But I'm not going to go into any of that today.
That is all available for you in the course entitled Divination with the I Ching.
Now we are going to focus on the process.
Of formulating the related hexagram,
In other words,
The connected guidance for the request that we are transmitting.
So let's move over to our drawing board.
My coins are kept in a special cloth that I keep wrapped up in the I Ching book.
Whose you don't need a hard copy.
Of the I Ching to work with it.
You can work with a PDF,
You can work with tracts.
So if you don't have a book,
You can just keep the coins in a special safe place.
It does help to contain their energy when they are held in one space.
So looking at the coins,
We see that there are different motifs on them from one side to the next.
So the side that is decorative or that has two motifs on.
That is the yin side.
And if you are not using each in coins,
Which you do not have to,
You can also use coins of your own currency.
Then the inside would be the tails of the coin.
The opposite side.
This has four motifs on.
It's the yang side.
Sometimes it's pronounced yang.
And that is now connecting to you.
The heads of your coins.
So before we cast the coins We're going to.

Just take a moment to understand the.
.
.
Casting process.
So as mentioned,
We've got the Yin side,
Which is the tail side,
That energy moves down.
It's connected to feminine qualities.
And its value is 2.
The young side of the coin.
The masculine,
The head side of the head.
Currency coins,
This energy moves upwards and its value.
Is three.
So we're going to have combinations of twos and threes individually,
Collectively,
As we move through the casting process.
So when we have.
The number six.
Or 8.
This is indicating a Yin nature and then we will make the indication as such.
This open line,
Sometimes it's called a broken line,
So there's a space between the two.
That's Yin.
When we have seven,
Or nine.
This now moves into the yarn vibration which we indicated as a strong solid line.
The number six.
And 9 are connected to changing lines.
And these lines carry an important message.
That one then refers to in the book or video.
The reference that you are using.
Okay,
So now we've got the formula.
Now we're going to go to.
.
.
The coins.
And you're going to have.
.
.
Your question on hand.
So I go through this process.
In the divination with the I Ching course.
So I'm not going to go into that detail here.
But do you know it is helpful to do some preparation?
Before entering into receiving guidance to make sure that your guidance is clear.
And then to Set your request.
So I always suggest requesting instead of asking a question.
So coming to the I Ching,
For example,
And saying,
Please show me or guide me.
Remember this is a process that helps us to access the wisdom that is already within.
So it's deepening.
And understanding of the self,
But it's also helping to draw out the answers that you have within you.
And now you've asked for guidance and you move the coins from hand to hand as you continue to think about that request.
And then,
When you're ready,
I like to cast with the left hand,
But be guided.
By what feels right for you.
And here we see we have got yawn which is three.
Yen and Yen,
2 and 2,
So that equals 7.
And seven is a yarn line.
So we're going to draw that indication.
At the bottom of the page because we start at the bottom and move up.
That's how a hexagram is created.
But we are working first with the bottom trigram.
Okay.
And so we continue in the same manner.
Hold the request within your mind,
Within your heart.
And then.
.
.
Cost the coins.
We have got Yin Yang again.
So that means another.
.
.
Solid line goes on top.
So now we have got Yin,
Yang,
Yang.
So 3,
3,
2 is 8 and that equals.
.
.
A yen line.
Okay,
So these three lines at the bottom show our first image.
Trigram.
And this trigram has a certain nature,
A certain vibration.
So it's helpful to understand the individual trigrams as well as the whole hexagram.
That will help you in your interpretation and all of that guidance is in the divination course.
Okay,
So now we're getting.
.
.
Yang Yan.
So we've got a yen line now.
Which is the fourth line,
But it's also the start of.
.
.
The upper migrants.
Okay,
So now we get yin,
Yin,
Yin.
246.
Equals the year line.
But it also equals a changing line.
So we put a little indication here.
And again,
Yin,
Yin,
Yin.
And another.
Changing line.
So now we have got our.
Lower trigram and our upper triagram.
We've also got trigrams in the middle.
And now we can put the coins away.
And.
.
.
Move towards creating the second hexagram.
So we don't always get a second hexagram,
It comes about if we have changing lines.
So simply what happens is those lines change from the one frequency into the other and the others stay the same.
So the ones that are staying the same,
You simply copy over exactly the same.
And the ones that are changing.
You now change into their complementary opposites.
So here we have got.
The first hexagram.
Which is our main theme.
And then the second hexagram is a supporting hexagram.
Sometimes it's referred to as present and future.
Future.
Or outcome But remember,
This is not about foretelling the future.
This is about guidance.
And really what we see when a.

The second hexagram comes about is there is supporting information that helps one to understand and work with the primary hexagram.
So now we move to referring to the trigram table.
And.
This key to hexagrams.
Can be found at the front or back of your I Ching book,
Or you can also find it online,
Or use this version for yourself.
So what we do.
Is we look for the same symbology.
The same triagram in black.
The lower part of the hexagram.
On the left hand side of the column.
So these trigrams here on the left refer to the lower part of the hexagram,
Whereas the top refers to the upper triagram.
So we've got the leg in the lower part.
And we find the leg over here.
And then we have got Earth.
And the upper trigram,
Which we find over here.
So where the two meet That's number 19.
Okay,
So number 19.
Is our primary hexagram.
And then we do the same for the supporting hexagram.
So we've got the leg again.
In the lower trigram.
And then we have got wind in the upper trigram,
Which we see over here.
And that connects to.
.
.
Hexagram.
Number 61.
So now you move to exploring the interpretations of these hexagrams.
You can refer to the an itching book.
This is my well-loved,
Well-used.
Favourite books?
That I use.
It's not the only one.
I do also have online versions that I use.
And you can also refer to the online tracks of the I Ching.
You are just starting out with the itching.
I would recommend just focusing on your first and primary hexagram.
As you become more familiar with the language and the system,
Then you can incorporate the changing lines.
And take your understanding further.
It doesn't mean that you will get less benefit.
In actual fact,
I've often found quite the opposite,
That deep diving into the primary can provide so much value through awareness.
