Haunted ... A Short Story About The Adult Wounded Child

This short story shows how worries from childhood can continue to haunt one for years to come. Such stress can result in insomnia or physical ailments if left unchecked. Stories have a natural manner of triggering responses within, heightening and deepening our self-awareness. Over time, such self-awareness leads to self-healing.

Will I be able to meet my bills at the end of this month, He wondered. I should be. Everyone has promised to pay me on time. But what if. . . He recalled the time when his dad did not pay the electricity bill when he was seven years old. It was in the middle of winter. He could barely sleep that night. He vowed he would never not have enough money. But what if. . . He reassured himself. It should be fine.

Aah yes my wildly anxious fearful,stressed out mother....there was never enough money in her mind,even though there was (poor Dad worked 2 jobs) I sadly feel anxious sometimes and feel lack in my life (not to the extent Mum did) but it happens.I try and practice a mindset of abundance and gratitude.Gratitude practice is easier.....
