Welcome to this grounding meditation.
As you are ready you can take a seat with your feet on the ground.
As you get settled,
If it feels available to you today you can close down your eyes.
Otherwise you can let them settle at one point in front of you.
Soften.
Take some deep breaths in through the nose.
Inhale through the nose.
Side out through the mouth.
One last time on your own breath.
Let your breath return to a normal,
If slightly deepened rhythm.
Now I want you to focus on each exhale.
You drop deeper into your body.
Take this time to make any movements.
Release any tension in your shoulders or your neck.
Rock your hips to feel the ground beneath you.
As you turn your attention inwards,
The external world falls away.
Your internal world within your body is illuminated.
As you tune into your body you might begin to feel any sensations or feelings,
Emotions.
You can acknowledge them,
You can come back to them.
In the meantime,
As you scan through your body you can imagine your awareness going deeper and deeper through your body.
As you are ready you can begin to notice roots extending out from any point that is meeting the ground.
So your legs,
Your feet.
Roots extend into whatever you are sitting on.
They go through the floorboards or the carpet of your home.
Travel down,
Down,
Down to the ground beneath you.
It travels through soil,
Grass,
Rocks,
All the way through underground rivers,
Lava and molten rock.
These roots extend through each layer of the earth and watch them travel deeper and deeper.
They can spider web out in different directions.
Taking up as much space as you choose.
As it reaches the core of the earth,
Whatever this looks like for you,
It might be a giant white light orb.
Signifying the centre of the earth,
Of Mother Earth.
You let these roots wrap around the core or anchor to it.
This is root anchor.
You feel an overwhelming sense of warmth,
Of comfort,
Of safety.
In this moment you feel completely held.
This space,
You are grounded,
You are centred.
As you connect to Mother Earth,
You can express an intention for your day,
For the practices you may have ahead.
You can wake your month,
Allow one to arise naturally.
You can surrender this intention to Mother Earth.
You can share any gratitude that you have for her.
This moment,
This space and time.
As that feels complete,
You can thank Mother Earth.
You can also request that she share any messages that may be for you.
Any wisdom,
Any knowledge.
Maintaining this connection,
We should begin to travel back up the roots,
Leaving them connected.
We are travelling back up and with it comes a white light filling these roots.
In that white light or that golden light is wisdom,
Lessons,
Anything of service to you.
They follow you back up,
Up through the lava,
The boulders,
Molten rock,
Rivers,
Water,
Soil,
Rocks,
Grass.
All the way back up through your floorboards,
Through the chair or sofa beneath you,
All the way up into your legs again.
In this wisdom,
This light,
This energy of Mother Earth fills you up and as you bask in this energy,
You still feel that deep connection,
That groundedness.
You feel safe in this space,
You feel health.
Knowing that whatever can come at you in this day,
Any challenges,
Any arguments,
Anything,
You are still connected.
Take a few more deep breaths into this energy,
Just soaking it up and feeling that warmth and that comfort.
Now in this moment,
If this feels complete,
You can begin to wiggle your fingers and your toes,
Taking any stretches or movements that feel good.
You can begin to listen to the sounds around you again,
The ones close by,
The ones further away.
Feel the warmth or the coolness in your skin,
The feeling of the clothes on your skin,
Your hair on your skin.
Slowly becoming aware of the outside world again,
Knowing that this energy,
This frequency is still inside you,
You can tap into it at any moment.
Otherwise,
As you're ready,
You can open your eyes,
Look around,
Let any things of beauty near you meet your eyes.
As you're ready,
You can close your practice.
