Hello and welcome to your new year practice.
This practice is designed to help you review the year that has just gone,
All your achievements,
Everything you're proud of,
As well as letting go of what you don't want to follow you into the new year.
Followed by what you do want to bring in in the new year.
This practice can be done anytime during the year,
Whenever you'd like a little reset,
But I have designed this as an end of year,
New year intention setting practice.
So when you're ready to begin,
You can take a seat,
You lay down,
Making yourself comfortable today and closing down your eyes if that feels nice.
You can start by taking some deep breaths,
Gently grounding yourself,
Letting yourself sink to the support beneath you.
As you begin to let the world fall away for the next little while,
I'd like you to first bring to mind some things that you're proud of that you achieved this year.
They can be big and they can be small.
Remembering that achievements aren't exclusively big life-changing things.
They can be small things like setting a boundary,
Learning to cook,
Starting a new hobby,
It can be bigger things,
Starting a new job,
Quitting a job that wasn't serving you,
Moving house,
Doing something that frightens you.
I give you the next little while just to list those things in your mind or you can write them down if that feels good as well.
Take your time and let yourself be proud of everything you've done.
Let yourself brag a little bit.
And as you create this list,
Make sure you feel the emotions associated with those things,
The excitement,
The happiness,
The joy.
Feel the emotions associated with all your achievements.
So I encourage you to remember this feeling.
It'll help bring more of these emotions into your life.
As you list a few final achievements,
Take one more moment to just be proud and excited.
It doesn't matter if the list was short,
The list was long.
You did really well this year,
No matter what your year looks like and you should be so proud.
Taking a deep breath,
You can come back to your body.
Your mind might have wandered off into memories.
Come back.
Next,
I'd like you to think into the things that you don't want to bring into the new year.
These can be limiting beliefs,
It can be people,
It could be a person.
What are the things that you are releasing?
Leaving them behind.
Is it a fear of showing up?
A fear of being yourself?
Is it people pleasing?
Old habits that you don't want anymore.
Once again,
You can scan these over in your mind or at another time you can write them down and you can burn them.
You can rip it up,
You can bury it in the garden.
These are beautiful ways to help release old limiting beliefs,
Old patterns,
Old habits.
Anything that does not serve you anymore.
Let's again feel the emotions associated with what you're releasing.
This might feel a little tender so don't do anything that makes you feel really awful but feel what it's like to feel small.
Feel what it feels like when you don't speak up for yourself.
Feel these feelings so you know that you don't want to feel them anymore.
You don't want them to follow you into the new year.
It's important to remember that we release things with grace,
With love and sometimes that can be really hard but a lot of these things served you at a time.
Limiting beliefs,
Old patterns were often there to keep you safe and that might feel a bit strange or wrong.
Often these beliefs were put in place to keep you safe,
To keep you protected.
When we release them we don't do it with animosity or hatred.
Just release them knowing that you're inviting in new beliefs and new patterns that will better serve you at this point in your life.
Listing any last things you're hoping to release.
When you're ready you can release one final deep exhale.
Envisioning these things leaving your space,
Leaving your system.
Once again coming back to your body.
Taking some deep breaths again centering and grounding yourself again for the moment.
And now we move into the fun part.
What is it that you are calling in for the new year?
What do you want?
What do you desire?
Make sure you check in with every aspect of your life.
Relationships,
Family,
Friends,
Partners,
Your work,
Your money,
Hobbies,
Passions,
Your health,
Your wellness,
Your spirituality.
Let yourself run wild with this.
If you could have anything and everything,
If everything was possible for you what would you want?
What would your life look like?
Nothing is too big.
Be courageous,
Be brave.
What beliefs do you want to reinforce this year?
The courage to show up online,
The courage to show up in your life,
To speak up for yourself,
To do the things that bring you the most joy.
Remember to feel the emotions of these things.
This is where it's most important.
Align yourself with those feelings.
This will draw them closer to you.
Make yourself feel like they already exist in your life.
Feel it in your body,
The excitement,
The joy,
The passion,
The power.
Smile a little bit,
Laugh out loud.
Do a little happy dance where you're laying or sitting.
Make yourself believe that you're already living it.
This new powerful mindset will be what brings it closer,
Brings it in.
Stay with it,
Keep feeling it,
Keep running over those things that you want,
That you're bringing in.
Once again running through any last desires,
Feeling them,
Being excited for them.
Take a deep breath in,
Imagine bringing them closer.
As you exhale,
Once again releasing anything unserving,
Anything that's not going to guide you towards this higher self,
This new life that you want.
Bring your breath back to a normal steady rhythm.
Feel what you're feeling in your body.
Are you feeling a buzz of energy?
Does your heart feel lighter of the excitement?
Do you feel inspired?
If you feel nothing,
That is perfectly okay as well.
Just sit with yourself and just feel whatever is alive for you in this moment.
Lastly,
We're going to ask you a question.
As you breathe in,
The question,
Whatever first comes to mind,
Trust that that is what's for you and embody it.
So the question for you is what's your intention for the new year?
It could be one word,
It could be a clear sentence.
Whatever comes to you,
Whatever feels right in your body,
Hold on to it.
Breathe into that intention,
Hold it,
Feel it.
Think of all the potential that can come with that intention.
Store that intention somewhere in your body,
Maybe it's your heart,
Your stomach,
Your throat.
I'm going to come back to it.
As you release this old year,
As you step into the new one,
Every day connect to that aesthetic feeling of what you're calling in,
Those elevated emotions.
Feel them,
Feel your intention.
Let it resonate through everything you do.
Each choice you make in a day,
Is it supporting your desired self?
Remember to show yourself compassion.
Not all days will be full steam ahead and that is okay as well.
Honor your power,
Your divinity,
Honor everything you were put on earth to achieve,
Knowing that you will achieve it.
So take your final deep breath.
So begin to close the practice,
You can move your fingers and your toes.
You can open your eyes.
Good luck in the new year and thank you for being here.
