Good morning and welcome to today.
If you're doing this meditation,
Then you may feel like you woke up on the wrong side of the bed,
Or maybe you woke up on the wrong planet,
And maybe you had a difficult sleep or some rough dreams.
So let's start to shake it off and wake up a little bit more to get here.
And let's start with some humor.
Jerry Seinfeld,
One of my favorite comedians,
Meditated every day for 40 years in the afternoon until somebody told him that he should also meditate in the morning,
To which he responded by saying,
Why will I start my day after resting all night by getting up to rest more?
But eventually he did start meditating in the morning,
And he said it made a huge difference.
So I invite you to start this morning by just getting here a little bit more.
Maybe there's still some of you kind of off in your dreams.
You can call that attention back.
Maybe there's some of you left in yesterday,
In some unfinished business the night before.
You can call yourself back from that.
And perhaps there's even some of you in later today,
Projecting out into the day.
Can you let yourself come back from the future?
And allow yourself to breathe gently.
Notice that your body knows it's this morning,
Your body,
Even if it's tired,
At some level knows it's getting ready for the day.
Allow yourself to start to feel thankful for waking up this morning.
You have such a beautiful day ahead of you.
And this day is a gift.
So if you woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning,
Allow that to start to just shake off.
With some gratitude and awareness of this moment,
You realize that whatever that energy is or was,
It can almost melt off of you.
And you can be here in your body in the present.
Give yourself some space for this meditation.
Give yourself some space for the day.
Give yourself some space to grow and to know yourself a little bit more.
And give life the opportunity to show you why you're here on this planet.
And maybe even why you woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
Take a nice big deep breath into your body.
Let it relax and sigh out.
Remember that even if you climb a really high staircase,
No matter how high it is,
You can only climb it one step at a time.
Enjoy your morning because the rest of the day is born out of the morning.
And tomorrow is born out of today.
Let yourself create from right here.
Maybe put a light smile on your face.
Try to open your energy up for what life has for you today.
Notice the gratitude inside of you for being able to have another day on this beautiful planet.
And remember,
Sometimes the world will reflect to us how we feel on the inside,
On the outside.
So if you woke up on the wrong side of the bed,
You have the opportunity to shift your energy and to shift your day.
So don't allow the day to just happen to you.
Create it,
Own it,
Enjoy it,
And have a great day.
And when you're ready,
It's time to get up.
