Cultivating connection.
Connecting with the body meditation.
Lie down or find a comfortable position to sit.
Lying down is better in this particular meditation.
So lie down and be still.
Close your eyes and take the focus inwards.
As you take the focus inwards,
Visualize the shape of your body in the space you are inhabiting.
As if you are looking down from above.
Be in presence.
That is,
Notice that you are here,
Here,
In this moment.
See yourself as you scan from the crown of your head down to your feet.
Focus on your toes and now be very specific and go to your left large toe and visualize the shape of your toe and the toes on your left foot.
Wiggle your left toes and notice how it feels to focus on these little wiggles.
Now wiggle all your toes and marvel in the toes that are yours.
How blessed you are to have toes,
To be able to stand on your tippy toes.
Now focus on your shins,
The space they inhabit.
Tense those shins,
Holding the shins in tension and then let them go.
Notice the contrast,
The difference between tension and release.
Now focus on your legs,
Visualize those legs and allow them to tense.
Tense those legs,
Holding them tight and then relax them.
Again noticing the contrast of tension and relaxation,
The connection between the contrast of being tense and being relaxed.
As your attention moves up the body,
Now visualize your tummy and your hips.
Tense your tummy and your hips as much as you can,
Focusing on this place.
Tensing,
Holding and then just letting it relax,
Floating and melting into the surface below you.
Moving up to your chest,
Tense the chest and then relax.
Opening to the space that you are creating in the tension and the relaxation.
Now focus on the shoulders,
Tensing the shoulders,
Holding them tight and then letting them go.
Melting back and down,
Allow them to relax into the surface below you.
Focusing on your arms,
Tense your arms,
Hold them tight and then release and relax.
Focus on your hands as if they are gripping and holding on,
Tense them tightly as if you are holding something you can't let go and then opening the palms up to the sky,
Release and relax.
Now focusing on your whole body from head to toe,
Toe to head,
Every single part of your body,
Tensing and holding and holding and holding and then just let go.
Gently let go of the tension and rest back into a feeling of effortlessness.
Just notice the difference,
Notice the difference between what it feels like to hold on and what it feels like to let go.
Now let's do this again,
Tensing your entire body,
Holding,
Holding,
Holding on and then gently and effortlessly letting the tension gradually ease,
Noticing the difference between tensing and releasing.
This is your beautiful body,
It is alive,
You are alive,
You are amazing,
Glorious,
Beauty and alive.
Just lying here,
Notice the sensations engulfing your whole body.
Just sit here and notice,
Rejoice in the life you feel in this body.
Even the pain reminds you that you are alive.
Your body is your true home,
This is the place you inhabit,
You are one of a kind,
You are a unique being of light.
Give gratitude for this body,
Give gratitude for this home,
Give gratitude for the moments you experience life,
For life is given through the body.
With these feet that propel you forwards,
With these hands that give,
Receive,
Create,
Make,
Touch,
Warmth,
Healing,
Enabling.
Through your body you experience and feel what it means to be alive.
Intuition that drives you to nourishment of the soul,
To what it means to do good.
This body allows you to connect to the wider universal energy and with this body you make your life.
With this body you cultivate connection with others,
Through giving and receiving,
Through movement.
In this way think good thoughts and see these replicated in your body.
Imagine,
Manifest.
In this way you make the life you want.
You are love,
You are the light,
Limbs that move,
Can hug,
Can comfort,
Can create.
This amazing body is yours,
A gift of love,
A spark of want.
You are beautiful in your ability to cultivate this life and a life to be lived with gratitude.
