
Habits & Addictions - Inner Child & Higher Self Guidance

In this meditation we tap into the guidance of our inner-child and higher-self to help you break away from unhealthy habits and addictions. Understanding that there may be a component of pain involved in why you do what you do. With this awareness and self-compassion you can then step into a healthier and happier future.
Transcript
Welcome to this meditation where you will tune in with what is best for you,
So you can make choices that are more in line with who you truly are and your highest self.
Just start to breathe slowly through your nose and start to get grounded in this moment.
Starting to relax the edges of your eyes.
Breathing through the nose.
Using your jaw.
Tuning in if there is any tension in your jaw right now.
And if there is,
Just using your breath to release.
Breathing in,
Letting breathing out go.
And then shifting down to your shoulders.
Relaxing your shoulders.
Often they like to get a little bit tense and pulled towards your ears.
But just dropping them,
Knowing that now is the time to relax and be here right now.
Breathing down to your ribs,
Feeling them expand on the in-breath and contract on the out-breath.
Just noticing how your body starts to relax.
As you gift yourself your conscious awareness in this present moment.
Any thoughts,
Just letting them pass by,
They come and they go.
You're here right now,
Truly aware and truly alive.
Tuning in to what a gift this body is,
What a gift this life is.
As you shift your attention to your heart,
And just breathe in and out into your heart.
What a blessing,
What a gift this body is.
What a blessing,
What a gift this life is.
Now imagine a scene in nature,
This could well be a beach or a forest.
Whatever comes up first is the right thing to go with.
And what do you see here?
What do your surroundings look like?
See what you see.
Feel what you feel.
The sensations on your feet,
The wind on your skin,
On your face.
Smell what you smell.
Hear what you hear.
Really tune in to all your sensations,
All your senses right here,
Right now.
You notice that you are not alone,
There is someone else sitting not far from you.
As you walk towards them,
You notice there's a younger version of you.
How old are they?
So as you get closer,
You notice that both of you recognize each other.
A sense of familiar,
But also an appreciation for meeting,
Because it's been a while.
You may choose to hug or just sit down next to them.
Anything that comes to you is perfect.
What do you want to say to them?
You have the chance now for this beautiful connection.
You may want to take turns expressing what you have to say to each other.
Usually there's a very natural flow,
Like the ebb and flow of the ocean.
One goes,
One receives.
One gives,
One receives.
You may find that your inner child takes you back to visualize certain points of your life.
Sometimes where you experience pain.
Abandonment.
Rejection.
All of these things happen to us as we go through life,
As innocent little beings trying to navigate life as good as we can.
And often we don't know how to deal with these overwhelming things.
So we just deal with them as good as we can.
But often they leave some kind of imprint on us.
So ask your inner child now,
Who hurt you?
What made you suffer?
Making sure to take deep mindful breaths.
All is good in this moment.
You're simply exchanging in order to cleanse and heal.
So you can truly step into your power and be the best version of you.
So you can truly embrace a part of you that has felt neglected for most of your life.
And what that will do,
It will take you closer to wholeness.
So you no longer look for validation outside of you.
But you know that you're good as you are.
Having established this beautiful connection with your inner child,
Is there anything that you'd like to say to them now?
Maybe you'd like to reassure them that you're there for them now.
You'll be the best parent that you can be to them.
Because your inner child lives on in you today.
It's the part of you that wants to be playful,
That wants to have fun,
Be innocent and at peace in every moment.
So when you're faced with certain choices of things that you do,
That you know don't make you feel good in the long run,
There might be a certain relief for you in a moment.
But after a while you don't feel good.
These things really make your inner child suffer.
Maybe your inner child wants to tell you how it feels when these things occur.
Not to blame you,
But just how it makes it feel.
Now is there anything that you want to tell your inner child?
Anything that you will commit to going forward?
Maybe you want to be more mindful in your actions,
More conscious in the way you treat others and yourself.
You don't need to be a perfect human being.
No one is that.
Otherwise they wouldn't be a human.
But we can still try our best in every moment.
Knowing that our inner child is always within and saying,
You can do that if you like.
But you know that we'll feel bad after.
So is this really what you want?
Maybe instead we could choose this and we'd feel so much better.
Knowing that this connection is now re-established with your inner child.
Feel a sense of security and peace.
Knowing that you're both there to support each other.
You are there as the wise parent.
Making good choices,
Smart choices to live a good,
Beautiful life.
And they're there in you to really express your playfulness and have fun with life.
You may now choose to say goodbye to each other.
Giving each other a hug if that feels appropriate.
Or just all your best wishes and appreciation for this time spent together.
Knowing that this connection is now truly established and always there for you.
As you look to your left,
You see that someone else is now with you here.
It is your higher self.
You also greet each other and do something fun to greet each other.
Maybe a little dance.
Whatever it is that you guys enjoy.
Your higher self looks you deep into your eyes.
Knowing that you're moving closer and closer to become one with them.
You can now carefully observe them.
What do they look like?
What are their habits?
What allows them to be this healthy and balanced?
How do they respond to situations and things that you struggle with?
There's an unlimited amount,
An absolute unlimited amount of wisdom here right now.
And you can freely tap into it.
So,
Whenever you're in a situation where you're making a choice about what to do.
You can also add the layer of your higher self.
Knowing that and thinking that,
Hey,
If I want to be my best version,
Would I be doing this right now?
Or am I only doing this to compensate for a part of me that's hurt?
For a part of me that's in lack?
If so,
Even if it can be a bit painful not to act it out,
To get a temporary sense of wholeness.
I know that wholeness is found within and I don't need this right now.
And I know that over time if I do this again and again,
It's only going to get easier.
And I will truly start to merge with my higher self with my best version.
And establish a beautiful connection and live out this connection with my inner child where I'm playful and having fun in this gift called life.
You may now also say goodbye to your higher self.
Knowing that this wisdom is always available for you as well.
As you're here in this beautiful scene by yourself,
Wherever that may be,
Just tune into what you just experienced,
Any key takeaways that you want to take with you.
And then when you're ready,
Bring your attention back into your body,
Coming up through your toes,
Your legs,
Shaking your toes if you like.
Moving up your body to your pelvis,
Hips,
Your tummy,
Your chest,
Your back,
Your arms,
Your neck,
Your jaw,
Your face.
Just with your whole body here,
Awake,
Aware.
And when you're ready,
Opening your eyes,
All the best and much love.
