Hello,
And welcome.
My name is Faith Hunter,
And I am delighted to bring you the soft life yoga nidra practice.
As we begin,
Remember,
This is a time for you to embrace ease,
Self-compassion,
And the nurturing energy of a soft life.
You'll be lying down throughout our time together,
So make yourself comfortable.
Find that most ideal position that's right for you.
I definitely suggest having a blanket to cover your body,
For your temperature sometimes may drop during these moments of stillness.
Feel free also to put on socks if you'd like,
And my favorite,
Use an eye pillow or mask to block out any light.
If you need additional support for your hips,
Spine,
Or neck,
Definitely set that up for yourself.
And also know,
You can lie down on a sofa or even your bed if that feels comfortable for you.
This soft life practice is about creating your own gentle,
Soft intention,
So make choices that bring comfort and the sweetness of self-love.
Hopefully,
By now,
You're all comfy.
If not,
Make any final adjustments,
And when you're ready,
Close your eyes,
Relax the in your mouth,
And as the breath flows in and out of your nose lightly,
Start to feel a sense of softness spreading across your face and throughout your entire body.
Let's take a few deep breaths together,
Inhaling sweetly through your nose,
And as you do,
Feeling the belly and chest expand,
And as you exhale,
Letting everything out,
Maybe even through your mouth if that feels most comfortable,
Breathing in,
Breathing out,
And using these moments of breath to draw you into the present moment,
And even use it as a way to establish a foundation for your mind as well as your body.
Continue to breathe as the breath cradles you and helps in deepening a state of relaxation and ease.
Within the practice of yoga nidra,
Setting a sankalpa or intention is vital.
I want you to think about your personal intention for this practice.
I invite you to repeat it silently or even whisper it about three or four times.
Feel this intention in your body and your heart.
Allow it to move through you.
Now take a deep breath in through your nose,
Exhale slowly out of your mouth,
And seal in your intention,
Seal in your sankalpa.
Let's begin to fully embrace your soft life.
As you settle in,
Know that a soft life is about self-love,
Kindness,
And ease.
And even by taking this moment,
Crafting this time for yourself to do this yoga nidra practice,
It is more than a practical expression of self-love,
It is a deep action creating your soft life filled with intention.
Every moment you spend in this state of ease,
It is a testament to your commitment to nurturing your soul and honoring your personal needs.
Now allow your breath to flow naturally.
As the body rests lightly on the floor,
On your bed,
On the sofa,
Still feeling the earth supporting you,
I want you to bring your attention to the crown of your head.
As you do so,
Release any tension from the side of your head,
Your jaw muscles,
Your lips.
Allow all the muscles of your face to relax,
Your forehead,
Your brow,
They soften as well.
Notice your breath as it moves in and out of both nostrils.
Just observe.
Then slowly bring your awareness to your throat and your shoulders.
Again,
This is about just witnessing and focusing attention.
Feel a sense of ease,
Even if you need to adjust your arms or hands.
Feel a sense of lightness through the fingertips,
The palms,
And even your arms.
Allow your spine to melt into the earth.
There's no strain on your rib cage,
Your belly and chest are moving naturally,
And even your torso is soft and at ease.
Focus your awareness now on your hips,
Hamstrings,
Quads,
And your knees.
Let the lower half of your body melt.
Soften the calf muscles,
Your ankles,
And your feet,
Allowing them to splay open.
And again,
If you need to make some adjustments,
It's okay,
Get comfy.
From the crown of your head to the tips of your toes and fingertips,
Everything softens,
Releases,
And is beautifully held by the earth.
You are anchored in a place of safety,
Comfort,
And love.
Allow your body to melt and simply rest.
Bring your awareness now to all 10 toes and fingers.
Notice a sense of lightness.
Focus on your right leg,
From the right hip to the foot,
And see if you can let it all go.
Shift your awareness now into your left leg.
Relax.
Releasing any tension through your shoulders,
Your fingertips,
Letting go of any tightness.
And then,
Of course,
Letting go of any tension in your right arm,
Left arm,
Right arm.
All your fingers,
Toes,
Arms,
And legs are soft.
Feeling your belly and chest rise now.
I'm going to invite you to take five inhales and deep exhales with me.
Inhale one.
Exhale.
Inhale two.
Inhale three.
Exhale.
Inhale four.
Exhale.
And inhale five.
Exhale.
Allow yourself to go a little bit deeper into a state of relaxation.
Now begin to visualize a healing light pouring into your first eye.
That space right between your brow.
This light is flowing across your face,
Melting and seeping its energy into the crown,
Your lips,
Your eyes,
Your chin,
Your throat.
Let this light move into your shoulders,
Your arms,
And your fingertips.
With each beat of your heart,
Feel it wash over your chest,
Move into your belly,
Your spine,
Your hips,
Your legs,
And your feet.
This light will comfort you.
It's here to support you and heal you.
It is designed beautifully to balance your mind and your emotions while also supporting your body.
For the next few minutes,
Rest in this healing light.
Find comfort and ease as this light nourishes you.
Simply allow yourself to be.
Slowly deepen your breath.
Exhale.
Do this a few more times,
Allowing the breath to travel in and out.
Bring organic movement back into your body.
Stretching wherever it feels right.
Then take another deep breath in,
Exhale out of your mouth.
Return to a brief moment of stillness and repeat your intention or sankalpa to yourself that you said at the beginning of the practice.
Breathe into its power and essence and know that it is so.
And whenever you're ready,
Create a little more movement in your body organically wherever it feels right for you.
Gently roll over and start to lift yourself up.
And know that as you move into the rest of your day,
Your evening,
Feel that sense of ease and know that your body,
Your mind,
And your soul are united.
You have taken time to embrace your softness,
Your sense of calm,
Love,
And deep compassion by practicing this soft life yoga nidra,
A radical practice of self-love.
Thank you so much.
Stay spiritually fly.
Ciao.
