If you have experienced the grief that accompanies abandonment you will know it is not easy to heal and can be very painful. My aim with this 10-day course is for you to navigate this healing simply and easily. The inner work will require courage but the process will be straightforward to assist you on this journey. Understanding Your Wound

Abandonment wounds may be invisible to the eye but there are very obvious signs that give this away when we interact with the outside world. Today, we will start by looking at the ways abandonment wounds can be formed, how the wounds are triggered, and look back to discover the roots of where your wound stems from.

Lesson 3

Insecure Attachment Styles

Abandonment wounds affect not just how we feel but many other aspects of our makeup. One outcome of an abandonment wound is an insecure attachment style, usually resulting in an anxious attachment style. Today, I will share what attachment styles are and how they connect to the abandonment wound, and finally, we will discover what your style is with a mini quiz.

Self-Abandonment

Abandonment left unresolved is a primary source of self-sabotage that can lead us into a vicious cycle of self-abandonment. Today, we will look at the ways in which we self-sabotage in order to protect ourselves from the grief of abandonment trauma. We will also look at the practical ways we can stop self-abandonment in its tracks.

Lesson 5

Core Beliefs

Core beliefs are developed from early childhood and include how we see ourselves, other people, and the world we live in. Core beliefs are our basic assumptions about our value in the world. When we have experienced grief such as abandonment it may cause us to question our value in the world. Today, we will be looking at unhelpful core beliefs, how we can identify them, and replace negative beliefs with positive ones, through the use of affirmations.

Lesson 6

Healing The Inner Child

The wounded inner child asks for care and love; they are always trying to get our attention. Healing is integral to our growth and the inner child can play a very large role in doing this. Today, we will be learning what the inner child is, how to reconnect with it, and diving into a short meditation to create healing.

Lesson 7

Rewriting The Script

The facts about our past can't change. But the story we tell ourselves about them absolutely can change. Unfortunately, most of us do not update this internal narrative, which can lead to limiting beliefs and additional suffering. Today, we will learn how to rewrite the script to turn the pain of your abandonment wound into an experience that has the potential for great healing and growth.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness involves engaging with a complex series of emotions – anger, pain, frustration, and fear – which most of us try to avoid. When we have been hurt by someone, the last thing we may want to do is forgive them, however, forgiveness is the key to lasting healing. Today, we will learn more about what forgiveness is, how we can practice forgiveness, and the missing key ingredient to getting forgiveness right – anger!

Building Your Self-Worth

Self-worth is the sense of one's own value or worth. It is a deep belief in your inherent value as a person. In order to raise our self-worth, we first have to understand the impact that self-worth has in our everyday lives. Today, I will share with you what self-worth is, why it is important, and offer some simple exercises to raise our worth.

Revisiting The Wound

The goal of abandonment recovery is to benefit from the experience rather than be diminished by it. Throughout this 10-day course, we have learned the different ways we can heal from abandonment. Today, we will be revisiting the wound to discover how we have healed, and look at the process of how we continue on this road to recovery.

This course hit a nerve, because im currently in intense trauma therapy and it brought up again my inner child experiences. I really appreciated the clarity, brevity and meticulousness. I learned a lot. I thought it was well structured and I had never heard of the stages of abandonment, and being stuck in one makes me cringe. Now that I’m aware of it, it actually provided comfort knowing that there are steps and a process to transition through said steps into wholeness again! I have learned so much. I had a breakthrough this morning. As if the pain in my heart which once was just there but I couldn’t really pin point it, now I was aware of the inner child wound, the day and season in my life when it was developed. I had an Eureca moment - I am normal- it was just what happened to me that caused me to see the world under a distorted lense, and I didn’t have the tools to assist me in the journey. I have so much compassion for my inner child and myself. As the journey continues I feel lighter and more aware.

This course has made me think about things that I have buried long ago and because of the ending of my 23 year marriage it has brought up all the old wounds of abandonment. I will take the course again because you’ve involved so much information from the stages of recovery, to living in it daily, to working on forgiveness.
