Lección 1
What Is Scarcity Mindset & How To Observe It
Welcome to the first day of this course. You have begun your courageous journey in uncovering your abundance mindset. In this lesson, we will learn what scarcity mindset is, and notice all the ways it has been limiting us. This will be the first step towards graduating from this negative mindset. Once we become aware of scarcity mindset in our life and recognize which areas it has been affecting, we are better equipped at eliminating it.
Lección 2
Become Aware Of Your Thoughts
A scarcity mindset leads to a vicious cycle of negative thought patterns, that persuade us that there isn’t and won’t be “enough” to go around or that our current circumstances will never change. In this class, we will learn to observe these thoughts in a nonjudgmental manner, practice separating ourselves from them and learning how to stop identifying with them.
Lección 3
Shift Your Self-Image
When our scarcity mindset has taken over, it misleads us into forming a negative self-perception and lowers our self-esteem. In today’s class, we will learn to kindly counteract these misperceptions of ourselves so that we can start to open up and view ourselves and the world in a new light. We will begin to dismantle the internal structures that scarcity mindset has built and help our heart open in a more accepting and compassionate manner.
Lección 4
Notice Your Vocabulary
In the previous lessons, the aim was to bring awareness to the way a mindset of scarcity has affected our thoughts and inner dialogue. In this lesson, we will center our focus on how our thoughts manifest in our language. We will notice the limiting vocabulary we use when we communicate our thoughts to ourselves and with others. We will observe how the way we speak affects our actions and shapes our day-to-day life.
Lección 5
Stop Comparing Yourself To Others
Whether it’s a picture you see when you are scrolling on social media or a lifestyle show on television, media has the ability to spark a desire for all the things that we lack in our lives. When we focus on things we do not have, our scarcity mindset amplifies. Today’s class will help us shift our attention away from comparison and ultimately neutralize restrictive and energy-draining emotions like envy and jealousy.
Lección 6
Celebrate The Achievements Of Others
When we operate from a scarcity mindset, we tend to believe that another person’s success will impede our own. In this class, we will learn to deconstruct this thought process and view others’ success in a more freeing way. Rather than considering life a fight to secure limited resources, we will expand our perspective and see the achievement of others as inspiration for growth. We will shift our worldview and use other people’s success as motivation to manifest our own abundance.
Lección 7
Stop Seeking Instant Gratification
A scarcity mindset settles our focus on seeking instant gratification and limits us in achieving long-term goals. If we want to reach a sustainable level of contentment and joy and achieve an abundance mindset, we need to reevaluate our methods. In this class, we will learn to employ a practical tool that will upgrade the current strategies we use to reach our goals. We will seek an answer to the following question: Are our strategies leading to a fulfilling life or are they simply quick fixes?
Lección 8
Learn To View Setbacks As Opportunities
People who have an abundant mindset are capable of discovering the good in every situation, even if it is negative. In this class, we will learn how to use our past trauma, which has shaped the way we view life, and transform it into an opportunity for growth and personal development. Research has shown that we can not only heal from past trauma, but also use it as a springboard to inner reflection and ultimately to cultivating a better version of ourselves.
Lección 9
Practice An Attitude Of Gratitude
How often do you sit and think about all the wonderful things you have in your life? Learning to develop gratitude in our everyday lives is an essential component of an abundance mindset. In this class, we will learn how gratitude can revolutionize the way we view life, especially when we have to tackle difficult situations. We will discover how being grateful does not repress our emotions but, helps us stay attuned to our inner peace even when things are not going our way.
Lección 10
Trust That Things Change
As the riddle goes: what sentence makes a happy person become sad and a sad person become happy? The answer is the focus of today’s lesson: This too shall pass. Today we will learn that when we operate from an abundance mindset, we trust that situations in life constantly fluctuate. At any given moment we can experience intense joy or utter sadness; however, both states are temporary and will soon give their place to a different one. We will learn to trust our heart and surrender to the ebb and flow of life. When we operate from a place of abundance, we trust that if things turn for the worse, they will soon get better again.
Lección 11
Be Proactive
When we choose to react to situations, we are refusing and resisting reality. A scarcity mindset urges us to change what is. An abundant mindset enables us to respond to life’s challenges, accept them and move forward. In today’s lesson, we will learn useful tools that will help us transcend from a reactive state into a proactive state of being. These tools will guide us in accepting reality and discovering new methods that can lead us to success and prosperity.
Lección 12
Disentangle Goals From Negative Feelings
What kind of feelings are hardwired in your mind when you think about your hopes and dreams? Are they positive, optimistic and supportive? Or, are they negative, frustrating and confusing? In this lesson, we will learn how to disentangle our personal goals and dreams from negative emotions, so that we can breathe new life into them and finally take steps in achieving them.
Lección 13
Transforming Your Shame
Today’s class will focus on a common emotion in those who carry a scarcity mindset: shame. When emotions like shame and fear are the driving forces behind our actions and decision-making process, this can shape how life unfolds for us. In this lesson, we will start with defining shame, learning to recognize it and discovering how it emerges. We will come to the realization that most of the time, shame is the only thing standing in the way of a life of full of joy, peace and abundance.
Lección 14
Using Triggers As The Pathway To Wisdom
In this class, we will focus on triggers and learn how they are an opportunity for growth rather than a negative reaction to a situation or a person. We will learn how they can ignite curiosity about our inner self and inspire self-reflection. When we tend to our triggers with care and compassion, we explore a new healing path that will lead us in the direction of growth and development. We will discover more about our true self, be more compassionate towards ourselves and the world around us and diminish the power of painful memories.
Lección 15
Be Present
When operating from a scarcity mindset, we are either living in the past (reminiscing past joy or regurgitating past trauma), or we are living in the future (being fearful and anxious about what might happen). Today’s lesson gives us the opportunity to explore and focus on returning to the present moment. When we bring our awareness to the present moment, we can fully embody an abundance mindset.
Lección 16
Take Responsibility
Do you often find yourself putting the blame on other people or on challenging circumstances? In this lesson, we will learn how a scarcity mindset compels us to relieve ourselves from responsibility, thus limiting our ability to take action. However, this in turn limits our ability to take ownership for our life. We will discover ways to take responsibility for our actions, which will enable us to leave our inactive state of fear and enter a proactive state of being. When we act, we operate from an abundance mindset.
Lección 17
Unlearn Everything You Know
Quite often, scarcity mindset is a learned trait, passed down from one generation to the next. Unlearning age-old lessons and dispelling preconceived notions are difficult chains to break—but something that can certainly be done. In this class, we will explore a powerful technique that will help you unshackle from every past belief system that has kept you stuck and prevents you from living to your full potential.
Lección 18
Stop Gossiping
When we resort to gossiping and criticism of others, we are using it as a mechanism to compensate for our own feelings of fear, jealousy and inadequacy. In this lesson, we will explore the ways this affects us, as it usually breeds more fear and insecurity. We will work on eliminating gossip from our language as we continue to rise to the level of an abundance mindset.
Lección 19
We Are Wired To Connect
As humans, we are first and foremost social beings. We need each other if we want to survive and we certainly need each other to thrive and be joyful. In this lesson, we will learn how isolation is usually a strong indicator of the scarcity mindset. We will seek ways to observe and embody the interconnectedness of life, which is a characteristic of those who operate from an abundance mindset, and embrace our relationships with those around us.
Lección 20
Getting To Know Greed
Small actions, like undertipping the waiter or being stingy when buying a present, can be a sign of greed. Over-consuming is another consequence of greed, since it stems from the belief that there are not enough resources for everyone. Greed is simply another component of the scarcity mindset. In this lesson, we will learn to observe greed and feelings of lack in our thoughts, and how to connect to our heart for the wisdom to question them.
Lección 21
People Who Share are Abundant
Generosity is one of the most powerful states of mind. When we share we are uncovering more of our true nature, which is innately prosperous. In this lesson, we will discover how to open ourselves to prosperity and realize that life rewards generosity.
Lección 22
Find The Silver Lining
Carl Jung, the grandfather of depth psychology, said that not being able to find meaning in your suffering is a sign of neurosis. In this lesson we will explore how to expand our perspective to see how in every “bad” situation, there is always a positive -- even in the most challenging of circumstances.
Lección 23
Surround Yourself With People Who Have An Abundance Mindset
The people who we choose to interact with affect us greatly. They can affect our worldview, self-perception and how we go about our daily life. If we fill our hours with the companionship of people who hold a scarcity mindset, we will soon be burdened with one too. In this lesson, we will learn how surrounding ourselves with positive people who have an abundance mindset helps shift our perception and mentality, and the importance of freeing ourselves from relationships that may no longer be serving us.
Lección 24
Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone
In this lesson, we will learn that people with a scarcity mindset tend to live within their comfort zones. Our comfort zones can feel like a warm security blanket; however, they prevent us from branching out, taking risks and pursuing new endeavors. How are you supposed to achieve your goals if you don’t practice the art of discomfort? You will learn that whether you are putting yourself out there or not, heartache and disappointment are inevitable; so, you might as well cultivate your inner courage, step out of your comfort zone and venture into the unknown.
Lección 25
Take An Inventory Of Your Resources
Living with a scarcity mindset impedes your judgment. It gives you a limited perception since you are viewing everything from the lens of lack, which causes you to become stressed and anxious and locks you away from recognizing your resources. In this lesson, we will learn how to expand our perceptions and find ways to access our limitless resources. By re-entering the world from a place of abundance you will see that the universe will reward you with prosperity and growth.
Lección 26
Needs Vs. Wants Inventory
In this lesson, we are going learn about the nature of our needs versus the nature of our wants. Needs are sustainable and are based on an abundance mindset, whereas our wants and desires center around entertainment and instant gratification, feeding scarcity mindset. Ultimately, we will question our perception of needs and wants and truthfully answer the question: “Do I need this, or do I want it?”
Lección 27
Practice The Art Of Visualizing
As we are starting to align with our purpose—our needs and our heart— think big and ask for all we want. In this lesson, we are going to practice using a visualization technique to help us raise our internal well of possibilities. By incorporating the mental visualization of our purpose into our lives, we will be one step closer to turning it into reality.
Lección 28
What is Buddha Nature & Buddhahood?
In this lesson, we will learn how all living beings have Buddha nature, the inherent potential to attain Buddhahood— the state of awakening reached once scarcity mindset has been eliminated. Think of Buddha nature as the highway that lives in our hearts, that leads us into our most awakened abundant potential— Buddhahood.
Lección 29
Practice Equanimity
Equanimity is a state of psychological stability. As we continue our transformation and journey in embodying an abundance mindset, we will notice that constant practice is required. In this lesson, we will learn how to practice equanimity, which will support us when old habits, behaviors and thought patterns creep in and threaten to affect and limit our abundance mindset.
Lección 30
Who Do You Admire?
The people we admire are most likely not living with a scarcity mindset. They are probably confident people who take risks and trust in themselves. There are countless spiritual teachers, civil rights activists, celebrities, politicians, artists, and athletes who live with an abundance mindset. On this last day of the course, it is important to focus on those people so that you continue to find support and inspiration. The best way to do that is to seek someone whose behavior you can model; someone who has achieved their wildest dreams through a mindset of abundance.
