Welcome to this meditation of releasing frustration you have for your body.
So this is the practice to do when you feel frustrated with your body and all kinds of things happen and our bodies change and our bodies might not respond the way we want them to respond and that's okay.
So what do you do when you feel like your body is disappointing you or when you feel like your body is changing in ways you you can't control or when your body hurts where you don't want it to hurt?
How do we stay embodied?
How do we stay connected?
This is the meditation practice for that.
So begin first by either lying down flat or by sitting with a straight spine.
You can lean back on something.
Especially for this meditation,
Allow yourself to practice self-friendliness.
Allow yourself to sit in a way that you are supported.
If you need to put clothes on or take clothes off,
Do anything to make yourself even a little bit more comfortable and take a deep breath in at your own pace.
And take a deep breath out through the mouth.
Take a deep breath in.
Take a deep breath out through the mouth.
And third time like this.
Taking a deep breath in.
A full breath out.
And now let your sit bones sink down.
Let your body release into gravity.
Stay with the breath.
Feeling the breath.
By feeling the breath fully,
You're honoring your body.
Feeling into the breath more deeply.
Letting the sensations of the breath reach you more fully.
By connecting to your breath lovingly,
You connect to your whole body lovingly.
If it hopes to anchor you as you inhale,
Say in your mind the word inhale.
And as you exhale,
Say in your mind the word exhale.
Observing the breath with care.
You are the protector of this body.
Feel that movement within the stillness.
Feel what an enormous resource your body is.
Feeling the body with gratitude.
Even on its worst day,
The body gives you so much.
Even on a hard day,
The body offers you so much.
It gives you so much opportunity.
It lets you experience the world.
First just say thank you body.
Body,
Thank you for bringing the world closer to me.
And first,
As an act of self-compassion,
Stay with the breath for two more minutes.
Peacefully watching the inhale.
Peacefully watching the exhale.
Meeting the body where it is.
Watching the breath with care and love and gratitude.
Letting the breath be as it is.
Not needing to change the breath.
And if it's useful to you,
Saying inhale as you inhale.
Saying exhale as you exhale.
Staying connected.
And when the mind wanders,
Bring it back to the breath.
Begin now.
Staying with the breath with your full awareness,
With care,
With respect for your breath.
Respect for your body.
And now put your hands on your heart.
And welcome the body into this heart.
Saying body,
I allow you to be where you are.
Body,
I accept you as you are.
Thank you to every cell of my body for everything you've given me.
You've brought the world closer to me through my senses.
You've helped me touch others physically and figuratively.
Thank you body for everything I've held.
Everything I've created.
Everything I've touched.
I accept that you have your own wisdom.
I accept that you have your own rhythms.
Body,
I don't need anything from you that you don't want to give.
I will take care of you.
I will support you.
I will feed you.
I will give you the sleep you need.
I will move you in ways you want to move.
And I will not ask of you what you do not want to give.
I am not here to receive from you.
I am here to give to you.
I am not here to take from you.
I am here to serve you.
Noticing how you feel as you say these words in your mind.
Letting yourself be at peace with any change or pain or ache.
Body,
I am there for you unconditionally.
No matter what you are going through,
We are in this together.
No matter what you're experiencing,
You get my loving awareness.
Put your hand on the heart and say,
May I be kind to my physical self.
May I show respect for this body with my words and with my thoughts.
Peace starts with not waging war against my body.
Peace starts with peace in my body,
For my body,
With my body.
Opening your heart to your body as it is.
If your body is injured,
Treat your body like an injured child.
If your body has energy,
Ask what your body needs.
Body,
I am here to serve.
Thank you for the millions of things you do that I don't even have to think about.
Like the heart beating.
Body,
I don't need you to be different than you are.
I am here to love you as you are.
And with your hand on your heart,
Feel the pulsating heart.
Feel all this energy in motion,
Energy moving.
And see if the heart starts to open with fondness and affection for this body as it is now.
Love and peace start with your body.
With connection to your body,
Being on your body's side,
Go through all your experiences today and this week.
Fully embodied,
Fully connected,
Fully friends with this body you have.
Now take a deep breath in and a deep breath out through the mouth.
Thank yourself for being open to self-friendliness and releasing any frustration towards your body.
You release frustration to the world as well.
Open your eyes with this new openness,
Acceptance,
Connection,
And love for what's around you and in you.
Coming back.
