I have been on Insight Timer since 2020 and just so grateful to be here live with you all.
Every week on Thursdays.
And I'm very much so in this practice with you always.
So we're going to drop in and today's all about.
Sort of.
Calming that internal alarm.
You know,
In our nervous systems kind of feel.
Shaken up and like something's wrong.
But when we really,
Really settle,
We can.
.
.
Remember and recognize that we are safe,
That all is well.
And come back to that more neutral state.
A little less on edge.
Hello.
Yay.
So go ahead and get comfy.
Maybe that means you want to lay down.
I often love to lay down and have my arms sort of in what's called goal post and just let the heart open and just palms open.
That's if you're laying down,
Not if you're seated.
If you're seated,
You can let your hands rest on your lap,
Palms open.
And just let your eyes feel heavy.
If it feels right to you.
We close our eyes so that.
We let go of the external world and start to look at our internal world.
Letting everything fade away.
So that it's just you.
And your breath.
Giving yourself some really deep breaths.
To settle and slow.
Can you feel how the exhale?
Softens your skin.
The shoulders drop.
The arms feel heavy and relaxed.
Allowing your breath to.
.
.
Guide you to the place within you that knows you are safe.
A place within you that knows nothing is wrong.
Breath in.
Allowing yourself to really settle into your stillness.
Releasing all the muscles around your jaw.
Let the tension go.
Inhaling as you open your heart.
Exhaling as you root down.
Feeling the feet grow heavy,
The hips,
The lower body.
You are here.
Not there.
You are safe.
And when the mind wanders.
Give yourself more compassion.
And can you sit here with that part of you?
That is scared.
That's tired.
Anxious or overwhelmed.
Hold them here instead of rushing to.
Make this part of you.
Go away or to fix or change.
Can you simply stay?
Allow.
And choose to not self abandon.
It's okay.
Giving yourself the gift of your own loving awareness,
Your own presence.
Noticing how a lot can shift by simply Acknowledging.
Seeing this part of you and choosing to stay.
Follow your breath in.
Follow your breath out.
You'd like join me in what's called Breathing.
We inhale.
And on the exhale,
May gosh.
Sound.
Breath in.
Exhale.
Maybe adding a hand or two to your heart.
A little sway,
Inhale.
Exhale,
Shhhh.
Breathe in.
Exhale.
Just a couple more my friend.
Exhale.
Breath in.
Really lengthen the exhale.
Normal inhale.
Big sigh.
Notice.
Take inventory now.
Of your mind,
Your heart,
Your body.
Notice how things have changed.
Settled and softened.
Whispering to yourself,
There is nothing wrong with me.
I am safe.
All is well.
I am here.
Steady breath in.
And let it all go.
Taking your thumbs and brushing them up against each finger.
Gently awakening the body.
A slow wiggle of your toes.
A breath in as your shoulders come up to your ears.
And then exhale as you drop the shoulders.
Lifting the chin.
Rocking the head side to side.
I need a soft smile.
How amazing is it to feel safe and at home in your heart,
Your body?
To remember there's nothing.
Of fear.
There's nothing really,
Really wrong.
Feeling the safety in your stillness.
Feeling how every breath is a love note to your body.
One more collective breath in.
And release.
From my heart to yours.
Slowly blinking your eyes open if they were closed.
There you are.
Welcome back.
Thank you all for joining me.
I hope you feel a shift.
And as always,
I love to hear how this landed with you.
