Welcome to this very moment.
I invite you to lay down for this practice.
Only if that feels right.
Allow yourself to really sink into the ground Let yourself be held.
Closing your eyes gently if you'd like.
Maybe let your arms rest alongside you,
Palms open.
Feel your heart gently lift.
Follow your breath in through your nose.
Exhale out your mouth.
Feel your nervous system start to slow and settle down.
Using this ocean visualization to regulate our nervous system.
To find healing in releasing any emotions,
Any feelings that are simply asking to be felt.
Allow yourself to drift into imagining the most beautiful ocean.
As you look around.
Noticing the bright blue water feeling this expansiveness as you look out into the vast ocean tasting the salt on your lips.
Feeling a gentle breeze on your skin and the warmth of the sun.
Feeling the sand beneath your feet allowing yourself to fully be with the ocean noticing how the waves are crashing Maybe it feels a little chaotic.
So much is swirling,
Moving the same as within you.
There's a constant flow of energy within us.
Maybe an undercurrent feelings coming and going.
The mind swirling.
Wandering,
Wandering.
You are only human,
My friend.
You are allowed to be as grand as the ocean The depths of who you are are similar to the ocean.
Seemingly endless.
Beautiful.
Wild.
Chaotic and calm.
Everything all at once.
You are free to feel.
Did you forget that,
My friend?
It's okay.
Just as a wave would wash over you,
Allow any feelings to simply wash over you.
Constantly shifting.
Rearranging forever evolving That's you.
That's the ocean.
Gentle breath in.
Gentle exhale.
Amberlion Road when the wave crashes.
Let it crash.
Don't waste your energy trying to fight it.
Your resistance only adds pressure.
Lean into it.
Flow with where it takes you.
Go deeper.
Stay curious and open-minded kind to yourself as you learn to make peace with the pain.
As Maya Angelou once wrote,
Every storm runs out of rain.
It will pass and in just a little time you will rise out of bed and you will feel lighter and the day around you will start to color again.
Stay patient.
This moment in time will come to be a distant blur in what is a rich and beautiful life.
Can you let the waves crash?
Can you feel yourself flowing with the feelings?
Going deeper into the ocean,
Into the depths of your heart right here.
You're safe.
It's okay.
Allowing yourself to simply float here visualizing yourself being carried away by the ocean.
Feeling complete trust and surrender as you let yourself feel.
As you let yourself be exactly as you are.
No more holding back.
Really seen.
Feel is to be all the way alive.
Keep diving in.
Breathing with whatever you are finding within you.
Continuing to see the ocean.
Let the waters hold you safely.
Breath in.
.
.
Breath out.
An unknown author writes,
I wonder if anyone has ever dared to tell the ocean it's too big.
That it takes up too much space on the map.
That its waves are too loud,
Too wild,
Too persistent.
It should calm down,
Shrink itself,
Learn to stay within the lines drawn by logical hands and tidy minds I wonder if anyone has ever stood on a cliff above the roaring blue sea and shouted,
Could you just not be so much?
Would be futile because the ocean doesn't answer.
It just keeps moving,
Vast,
Unapologetic,
And sometimes overwhelming,
Kissing the shore with salt and secrets,
Swallowing the sand and its tides.
It doesn't shrink to fit a postcard.
It doesn't hush itself so fragile hearts can sleep.
It doesn't care if someone's shoes get wet because they step too close.
And didn't understand what they were standing next to.
And yet,
Here we are,
Asked every day to be smaller,
Quieter,
Softer.
To make our griefs neater,
Our joys quieter,
Our rage more reasonable.
We are told to wear our emotions like perfume.
Just a hint.
Just enough to be interesting,
But never too much.
Never too much.
But you,
My friend.
You were not born to be just enough You were not put here to smooth out the edges of someone else's comfort by shrinking and silencing yourself.
Just like the ocean,
Your depth is not a flaw,
It is a force.
So when life feels like the waves,
Vast,
Unapologetic and overwhelming,
Allow yourself to feel it.
You don't have to apologize for your tears,
My love.
The ocean doesn't bow to those that stand at its edge and complain about its depth.
Breathe in those powerful words Exhale.
Allow yourself to be with the ocean,
To be with the depth of who you are feel all your feels Release.
If it feels right to you,
Wrapping your arms around you,
Giving yourself a hug allowing this ocean visualization to gently drift away.
Feeling grounded back in your body.
Feeling whole.
Give yourself one more squeeze.
Take a breath in.
Exhale.
Resting your arms down by your side,
Or maybe hands over heart.
Just be still a little longer.
The ocean waves don't crash The ocean eventually settles itself.
The waves don't crash forever.
Can you feel this gentle settling?
This knowing that you are okay.
You are not too much.
Gentle inhale.
Gentle exhale.
Let this be intuitive,
Reawakening your body in some way that feels right to you You'll be finding a full body stretch.
Maybe rocking side to side,
Turning your head left and right.
Maybe let yourself lay here Soften here a little longer.
And only when you're ready,
Thanking the ocean for its lessons.
Thanking your heart and mind for feeling so much.
You are enough.
Take it easy now my friend One more big breath together,
Inhale… Exhale.
From my heart to yours.
