Welcome to this Reiki self-treatment.
Lie on a comfortable surface like a bed or be seated if you prefer.
Let your body receive support from the surface beneath you.
Let your neck and shoulders soften and relax.
Make sure throughout the self-treatment that your arms and shoulders don't become strained or tired.
Relax your arms onto your body for each position and if you are lying down support your elbows with pillows if that helps.
Let your breath flow freely.
For position one place your hands gently over your eyes with whatever pressure feels right with the palms of your hands covering your eyes your fingers closed and fingertips pointing upwards or gently curled onto your forehead.
This position covers the physical eyes and the third eye chakra.
There is also a minor chakra behind each eye.
Bring your attention to the physical sensations naturally arising from the contact of your hands with your eyes.
Let your gaze turn inwards and rest deeply inside the third eye chakra.
Notice any reflections,
Colours and insights.
Let them come.
If your mind starts to get distracted with thinking gently anchor it back into the physical sensation of your hands resting on your eyes.
Notice what energy sensations you can feel.
Slide your hands over to both sides of your face to cover your right and left temples.
Have the fingers closed and pointing upwards with the palms of your hands resting on your cheeks and jaw.
Your fingers covering the indentations in your right and left temples.
Close your hands here with a comfortable pressure.
This second position does not cover a main chakra but there is a minor chakra positioned in front of each ear.
This position is helpful for relieving tension headaches and maintaining the inner ears balancing of the body.
If you find your mind wandering let the small naturally occurring sensations that arise here from the contact between your hands and sides of your face ground your awareness.
Be present with any energy movements you can feel.

For position three move your hands round to the back of your head so that you are cradling the back of your neck at the base of the skull in the same way a baby's head would be held.
Have your fingers pointing towards the middle of your head.
If it's more comfortable place one hand on the base of your head and one hand on your neck.
Let the arms relax open your armpits and let your arms fall back onto the surface beneath you as you receive the full benefits of this nurturing position.
This is not a main chakra center but it does bring nourishment and comfort as you place your attention deeply inside this position.
Let the small naturally occurring sensations that arise here from the contact between your eyes.
Of faith 0 Myandise Slide your hands around to either side of your throat so that your fingers are pointing backwards to the back of the neck and your palms are positioned at either side of your neck and jaw.
This position covers the throat chakra which is a major chakra centre.
There is also a minor chakra behind the thymus gland and one where the collar bones meet.
Make sure you don't put too much pressure on your neck and throat.
Just have your hands lightly placed with the thumb side of the hands resting on the collar bones.
Be present with whatever natural sensations are here as you channel nourishing reiki energy to the throat chakra.
Slide your hands around to either side of your throat.

Slide your hands from your neck onto your upper chest and have your fingers now pointing inwards.
This position covers the heart chakra deep in the centre of the chest.
There is also a minor chakra above each breast.
The heart chakra is the middle chakra and so profoundly affects the others.
Let your hands rest here as you feel if there are any natural sensations in the muscles and tissues.
Go deeper into the heart chakra and remember you don't need to consciously direct energy.
The reiki energy will go to wherever it is most needed.

Slide your hands down to the solar plexus which is just below the breastbone and directly above the navel.
Hold the hands in the same position as on the heart with the fingers closed and pointing inwards.
Be present with any natural sensations here.
To soften this area further,
Observe yourself breathing into the upper abdomen with control as if you are gently inflating a balloon and with control slowly breathe out again and let the back body sink even deeper into the surface beneath you.
Be present with any energy sensations you can feel.
Slide your hands down to the solar plexus.
Slide your hands down to the solar plexus.
Now slide the hands down to the stomach area.
There isn't a major chakra at the stomach but there is a minor one near the liver,
Two connected to the spleen and one connected to the stomach so it is a very helpful place to bring energy.
It includes the gut,
Digestive system and internal organs.
Notice the hands here with the fingers closed pointing towards the navel.
Feel the stomach rise and fall with the breath as you become aware of natural sensations here.
Enjoy a feeling of kindness and respect for everything the stomach does to keep your body alive and well.
Very present with whatever is taking place energetically.
Now.
Slide the hands down to position eight and the last position on the front of the body.
This is the sacral chakra on the pelvis.
Position the hands in a triangle with both hands pointing downwards towards the pubic bone and the palms of the hands over the ovaries testes or space here.
There is a minor chakra over each area.
Let your awareness go deep inside the pelvis.
Feel for any natural sensations,
Any warmth or tingling.
Witness whatever is taking place within the sacral chakra energetically.

Finally,
Slide the hands round to the back of the body to bring healing energy to the base chakra.
This chakra can sometimes get missed out because it is at the end of the self-treatment but it is very important to bring energy here as it is the building block on which all the other chakras depend.
The tailbone at the bottom of the spine is where you are aiming for.
You can place the hands on either side of the lower back with the fingers pointing downwards or you can rest your body on the backs of your hands with the back of one hand against the base and the other directly beneath it,
Palms facing towards the bed.
Set your attention deep inside the base chakra and feel whatever is arising here.
Let your awareness go deep inside the pelvis.
Now,
Bring the self-treatment to a close.
Let your attention come back to the surface of your mind,
To your whole body and into the room.
Take a few minutes to rest and gently reflect on the self-treatment before carefully getting up.
