And welcome to The Artist's Morning.
My name is Darius,
And I am so grateful that you and I get this time together.
Let's begin our practice.
If your eyes are open,
I'd like to invite you to gently close them now as we begin to go inwards together,
Nice and slow,
Giving yourself a moment to settle in.
In your seat,
In your body,
In your breath,
Beginning to take longer,
Deeper breaths.
Creative energy to work its way into your system,
Old,
Unwanted,
Unneeded,
Stagnant energy to leave your system with your exhales.
Going nice and slow.
We can be gentle here,
Allowing a gentle softness to work its way from the top of your head down,
Down,
Down to the bottoms of your feet,
Feet grounded,
Supported,
Rooted into the floor and into the earth.
Sitting with a tall,
Gentle spine,
Heart open,
Voice open,
Vision open,
Down,
Open,
Ready to receive.
Softening your forehead,
Softening your jaw,
Softening your shoulders,
Allowing them to gently drop,
Longer,
Deeper breaths,
And simply letting go of anything you no longer need to carry.
Let's take a deep breath here together,
Breathing in,
Big exhale out.
We have landed.
We are here now.
Just take a moment to feel here now.
What do you notice about here and now?
Is there something that maybe surprises you?
You'd like to have a deeper experience,
Continue taking deep breaths,
Continue exhaling with some noise,
Continue softening,
Softening,
Softening.
With your permission,
I'd like to share some of my beliefs about here now.
I believe here and now is the most amazing moment in human history when it comes to creativity and self-expression.
And I believe your wildest dreams are closer than you realize.
I believe anyone from any background at any age can achieve incredible accomplishments and creativity.
I believe we live in a world where all of your creative dreams are closer than they've ever been.
The path forward is not about accumulating more and more and more,
But rather simplifying,
Letting go.
You know,
Inside your heart,
Your soul chose to come here in this body,
In this moment for a reason.
It's okay if you're scared.
It's okay if there's uncertainty.
It's okay if you want to slow down.
There's nothing you actually need to do.
A reminder how blessed each and every one of us are for the gift of creativity,
For the gift of self-expression.
What a blessing to have a voice.
Not everyone has a voice,
But you do.
What a blessing to have vision,
To have ideas,
To be able to see things that aren't yet here.
What a blessing to have vision.
Not everyone gets vision,
But you do.
What a blessing to be alive today.
To feel life force energy working its way through us.
What a blessing to be alive today.
Not everyone gets that blessing today,
But you do.
Take a breath,
See if you can acknowledge the truth of here and now.
I'm going to share my belief with you again,
And you can reject it,
You can let it float away,
Or you can just be with it,
Get curious with it,
And see what impact it might be able to have in your life.
Here is the belief.
I believe we are living in the golden era of creativity and self-expression.
I believe right here,
Right now,
This moment in time is the greatest opportunity in history,
In the history of our planet,
In the history of our species,
To create,
To share,
To express,
To build something.
I believe that something can literally be anything,
No matter how small or big,
It doesn't matter.
And if you feel that something in your heart,
Whatever it might be,
A story,
A book,
A song,
A dance,
A home,
Whatever it might be,
If there's something in your heart that is longing to be expressed,
There has never been a better opportunity than right here,
Right now.
This is our last song.
I'm going to stay quiet and let you play with that idea,
That belief,
Or let it go.
Totally up to you.
What could be possible if that silly little belief of mine was true?
