Good morning and welcome to the Artist's Morning.
My name's Darius and today's meditation practice will be on the theme of forgiveness,
Specifically self-forgiveness.
Many of you out there are big dreamers,
Have big visions and goals,
And perhaps there's an older version of yourself that also had big dreams.
Dreams that maybe did not come true.
And sometimes we punish that version,
That dreamer version of ourselves.
We run away from them,
We resent them.
And what happens is when present version of ourselves feels excited about something,
We often unconsciously bring the energy,
The excitement,
We dial it down because we've been hurt in the past.
Remember that time it didn't work out,
Let's not dream so big this time.
Whether it was a project,
A relationship,
Doesn't really matter.
As always with my meditations,
Everything is an invitation because I know each one of you is different and each day is different so feel into how ready you are for today's journey and trust your intuition.
Let's take a nice deep breath together now.
Breathing in,
Letting it all go.
Allowing yourself just to land in your seat.
Remembering that there's nothing you need to do or any way you need to be.
We are playing together this morning.
This space is intended to serve you.
You're holding any tension in your forehead,
Your jaw.
Bring a little softness there.
Softening.
In your nose and your tongue.
Allowing the softness to flow down your neck and shoulders.
Just melting away any tension.
Allowing your shoulders to drop towards the floor.
And if you are able with your next exhale just make a little noise and just let it go.
Breathing in.
Just letting it go.
Seeing if you are able to access just a little bit of joy,
A little bit of calm and ease.
Even one percent more joy is a success.
I want to invite you to picture a previous version of yourself.
Could be last year.
Could be last decade.
Don't think too hard.
Just find a previous version that had big dreams.
Had a big vision for how something was going to turn out.
Imagine them sitting in front of you now.
Notice what they look like.
Their hair.
What they're wearing.
How do you feel sitting next to this previous version of yourself?
Take a moment to really notice what feelings come up for you.
Yes,
These previous versions of ourselves had big dreams.
And yes,
It is possible they were wrong about some things.
But also maybe they were right about some things.
Maybe you are upset with this previous version.
Maybe you're disappointed.
That's okay.
And maybe you are ready to forgive this version.
Maybe they were doing the best they could with what they had.
Maybe their sacrifices and their pains made you stronger today.
Maybe it took courage to dream.
Maybe believing in your greatness was an act of bravery.
Maybe that dreamer spirit in this previous version of you doesn't need to be shamed or muted.
But instead,
Celebrated and nurtured.
Are there any parts of yourself that you feel ready and willing to acknowledge and maybe even forgive?
You don't need to force it.
Trust your heart.
Trust your intuition.
And see if that serves your best and highest good.
I know each situation is different.
I know each one of our pasts is unique.
And I also know that present day you that is listening to this meditation now is different than the previous versions.
There is more wisdom here.
There is more maturity here.
And perhaps there is more leadership here.
What would it be like if present day you was able to forgive the older version of yourself and invite them into this next chapter?
Invite their dreamer spirit,
Their courageousness,
Their energy into this next chapter of you.
I'm going to stay quiet for the rest of the meditation and let you explore and connect with yourself,
With your heart and perhaps with these previous versions of yourself.
I'm going to stay quiet for the rest of the meditation and let you explore and connect with these previous versions of yourself.
I'm going to stay quiet for the rest of the meditation and let you explore and connect with these previous versions of yourself.
I'm going to stay quiet for the rest of the meditation and let you explore and connect with these previous versions of yourself.
I'm going to stay quiet for the rest of the meditation and let you explore and connect with the previous versions of yourself.
I honor and respect you for carving out some time for yourself.
I can imagine there's a chance this meditation was not easy for you going back into the past.
As always,
With the artist,
Morning for those of you joining us live,
I'm going to put 20 minutes on the clock and allow you to do some private personal journaling?
Perhaps maybe in your writing you'd want to explore a conversation with these previous versions.
Is there something you want to say to that previous version of yourself?
Is there something that previous version wants to say to you?
If you're catching us on a replay of course you could do the same.
Put some time on your own clock and see what's here and ready to express through you.
Thank you for meditating with me.
My name's Darius and we will see you next time.
