Good morning and welcome to the artist morning.
My name is Darius and I am so grateful you and I get this time together.
Our practice today will be an inner child guided meditation and guided visualization.
We will be traveling through time and space and connecting with a version of yourself from the past with the intentions of deepening our relationship,
Our support systems,
Our love with ourselves.
Let's begin our meditation.
If your eyes are open,
I'd like to invite you to close them now as we begin to go inwards together.
Let's go nice and slow,
Giving ourselves a chance to land in our seats,
Land in this moment.
Wherever you're coming from,
Whatever energy,
Whatever's happening in your life,
We've got a few minutes together.
Sacred time for just you.
Taking a moment to connect with your breath.
Follow it from the tips of your tongue,
From your nostrils down your throat,
Into your lungs,
Into your heart,
Down into your belly.
Allowing a gentle calm to work its way into your system,
Into your body,
Into your breath.
Melting away any tension,
Allowing your shoulders to gently drop towards the floor.
And maybe if you're open to it,
Trying on a little baby smile on your face to see how that feels.
Now I'd like to take us on a little journey together.
I want you to imagine there are a hundred versions of yourself in front of you.
On the far,
Far left is you at age zero in your mother's belly.
In the far,
Far right is you at age 99.
Don't overthink it,
You're obviously older.
And in the middle,
A spectrum of you.
Age one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
So on and so on.
This is your cosmic family of selves.
This is your cosmic family of selves.
And let's not forget you now,
Observing all of these beautiful humans.
Now I'd like us to zoom in to the portion on the left from age zero to ten.
And there is one version of yourself that chooses to step forward towards you.
Again,
Don't overthink this,
You can come back to this meditation at any time.
There's one version from zero to ten that steps forward.
How old are they?
Notice what their hair looks like.
Notice the texture of their skin,
The softness.
Notice what they're wearing.
And I'd like to ask you if you're open to step forward towards this version.
The two of you are now standing directly in front of each other.
And there are two seats across from each other and you both sit down.
And you take a moment to look into this version of yourself.
Look into their eyes.
What do you see?
This meditation is really simple,
We're just making some space for you and you to spend a little bit of quality time together.
There is a good chance that this version of you stepped forward because there is a little bit of care and attention that they are seeking from you.
Are you open to giving them your attention?
Are you open to giving this younger version of yourself your care?
If you are open,
I'd like to ask you to place both your hands,
Palms up in front of you and in front of them,
An invitation for them to place their hands on yours and for you to make contact.
And maybe they take you up on this invitation and maybe they don't,
Both options are okay.
If they do,
Can you feel their little hands in yours?
If they do,
Do you see their eyes change as you make physical contact?
Is there something you'd like to share with this younger version of yourself?
Energetically,
Just through the transmission of your energy.
Is there a secret message you want to send to them through your eyes to theirs,
Through your heart to theirs?
If so,
I'd like to ask you to do so now.
Bravo,
Dear artist.
I'm proud of you,
Both of you.
Now the illusion is that older people hold all the wisdom,
But we're smarter than that.
We know that children often have access to tremendous wisdom as well.
Is there a message your younger self would like to share with you?
Is there some guidance,
Some support,
Some love your inner child would like to share with you now?
Just listen.
Maybe it's words,
Maybe it's just energy,
Maybe it's a dance move.
I'm going to stay quiet for the rest of the meditation and let the two of you explore together.
