Good morning and welcome to the artist's morning.
My name is Darius and I am so grateful that you and I get this time together.
Our meditation practice today will be an exploration of your higher self.
Now,
What is a higher self?
That's a good question.
For different people it means different things.
For me personally,
I believe our higher self is a step towards our truest self.
A version of us that has clarity,
Has confidence,
Has focus,
And is ready and willing to bring their truth,
Their gifts,
Their blessings into the world.
Let's begin our meditation.
Find a nice comfortable seat and allow your body just to settle in.
Let's go nice and slow,
Giving yourself a chance to truly arrive.
Giving yourself a chance to land in your seat,
In your body,
In your breath.
Taking slow deep breaths.
Your mind is racing.
That's okay.
That's what creative minds do sometimes.
There's no way to get this meditation wrong.
Allowing a gentle softness to fall upon you now.
Softening your eyebrows,
Softening your forehead,
Your cheeks,
Your jaw,
Your tongue,
Your neck.
Just letting any tension just to melt away.
Allowing that softness to work its way down your shoulders,
Your back,
Your arm.
Almost feels like a gentle hug from someone you love.
Works down your hips,
Your leg,
Your ankles,
Your feet.
This concept of our higher self.
It starts with an awareness of our self.
Let's start by just feeling ourselves.
What's alive here in your body?
Notice any sensations.
Quick little scan from the top of your head down to your toes.
Is there any parts of your body that are asking for a little bit more attention?
As we continue our exploration of self,
Let's go one level deeper into our emotional self.
Stepping into your heart.
What do you notice about your heart?
About your feelings?
About your emotions?
What's alive in this moment?
How is your heart this morning?
Now,
There's no need to change anything,
Fix anything,
Be any way.
All of it is a gentle exploration.
There's a notion that I just can't get out of my head.
All week,
I've been diving into it.
I've been repeating it to myself.
I've been writing it on pieces of paper.
I've been taking it into my meditations.
I've been taking it into my dreams.
I've been taking it in to every aspect of my life.
Sometimes I absolutely love it.
Sometimes I resist it.
Sometimes it makes total sense and sometimes it feels like a paradox.
I'd love to share it with you here.
It comes from one of my favorite spiritual teachers,
Ram Dass.
And it's a simple statement.
You are not who you think you are.
You are something else.
Take a moment just to feel the energy of that statement.
Maybe it's neutral.
Maybe it activates you.
Maybe it repulses you.
Maybe it confuses you.
I'd like to offer it up again.
Here it is.
You are not who you think you are.
You are something else.
And if you notice your mind starts to wander other places,
Let's gently invite it back.
You are not who you think you are.
You are something else.
You,
Beloved,
Are not who you think you are.
You are something else.
If you are open to it,
I'd like to invite you to step back,
Zoom out,
And remember you are not who you think you are.
You are something else.
Step back,
Zoom out,
And remember you are not who you think you are.
You are something else.
If you are open to it,
Step back,
Zoom out,
And remember,
And if you're open to it,
Try on a little baby smile.
Little baby smile on your face.
A little baby smile on your heart,
As if there is a cosmic joke,
An inside joke that you are in on,
A remembering,
What's it like,
All of a sudden?
Remember this beautiful,
This radiant,
This adventurous,
This expansive journey we are on.
You are not who you think you are.
You are something else.
Something marvelous.
Something radiant.
Something infinite.
You are not who you think you are.
You are something else.
Step back,
Zoom out,
And remember,
If there is something inside you that you no longer need,
It's okay to let it go.
If there is something inside you that you no longer need,
It's okay to let it go.
I'm gonna stay quiet for the rest of the meditation and let you explore.
Take a deep breath here together,
Giving ourselves a chance to land back in our bodies,
Breathing in and letting it go.
Bravo to your artist.
Bravo to your creator.
You made it to the end of a meditation.
I have a big smile on my face.
I love when you do that.
I love when we do that.
I feel so grateful to have this time with you.
Even if I've never met you before,
I still somehow feel connected to you.
It's like a dream come true for me to be able to connect with people at this level,
On this plane,
With this depth.
So,
Thank you.
For those that are joining live at the artist morning,
I'm going to put 20 minutes on the clock and allow us to do some private and personal journaling.
Explore what's here,
What's alive,
What's accessible for you.
And of course,
If you're catching us on a replay,
Maybe on insight timer,
You can do the same.
Get your journal out,
Put some time on the clock,
And continue the exploration.
Thank you for meditating with me.
My name is Darius and I will see you next time.
