Welcome to your session today.
My name is Shanna Moyer and I will be leading you through a mantra meditation that we will use to create an element of safety within.
The mantra very simply is I am safe.
It,
The mantra itself,
My voice along with music will hopefully allow you an opportunity to lower your adrenaline responses,
To settle in,
To grow quiet,
To let your body come back into a space of regulation.
If at any time you feel as though you are unsafe,
Please pause the recording.
Shake it out of your body as much as you can.
Get up,
Move around and if it feels appropriate at that time to continue,
Please do.
But if it doesn't,
You are a co-creator in this space and if it doesn't feel like the right time for you to be trying to create a sense of safety and groundedness within,
That's okay.
Be gentle and kind with yourself.
I invite you to get comfortable with your body.
Lying down for this session is perfect.
If you have a weighted blanket,
That's amazing.
A comfy,
Cozy,
Soft blanket will also do just fine.
And when you feel ready,
Closing the windows over your eyes.
If you are someone who enjoys a little bit of pressure on your body to feel safe,
That deep pressure regulation,
Placing your hands over your chest or placing one hand on each of your hip bones.
Feeling that physical contact of holding yourself.
I will lead you in the mantra of I am safe a few times over and then the music will play for several minutes.
During the time that the music is playing,
I encourage you to say this mantra silently in your mind or quietly to yourself over and over and over.
If you can,
And it's available to you,
Matching the mantra with each inhalation and noticing how your body and your brain start to settle down into the process.
Breathing out all of that air and let us begin.
I am safe.
I am safe.
I am safe.
I am safe.
I am safe.
I am safe.
Now the music will play on.
Keep repeating the mantra to yourself.
I am safe.
Now taking a big deep breath.
We will end our session today by repeating the mantra three times over.
Knowing that everything we have created here together is done for our highest good.
To build a beautiful foundation of safety for ourselves and for each other.
I am safe.
I am safe.
One last time together,
Collectively in this beautiful community.
I am safe.
When it feels right and comfortable to you,
Opening the windows of your eyes,
Coming back into the present moment.
Thank you for being here,
For holding one another with love and compassion,
And for extending out into the world this notion of creating safety within.
