Moonbow Forest #5 Children's Meditation Story

Moonbow Forest #5 is the 5th story in this magical, sleepy story series for children of all age. It is about a girl called Stephany that is gifted a pair of magical earrings that when she wears then she transports into another world, a world called Moonbow Unicorn Forest. In this story Stephany visits the forest on a very special day "Fairy Dust Festival". Listen and find out what magical adventures she gets up to in this awesome bedtime story!

Are you ready to meditate with Kari?

Lay down in your bed,

Pull up your sheets,

Make sure that everything is all well in your world so that you can relax and let go of your day.

It had been such a long,

Long winter.

Stephanie was yearning for the sunshine.

Snow is always fun when it first falls on the ground and everything is white and sparkly.

It's like you open your bedroom windows and you feel like you're in another world when it snows during the night time.

Everything looks like it's being covered in the biggest,

Softest,

Whitest fluffy blanket.

But then after a few weeks,

You get sick of the sludge and the slush and the dirt,

The soggy brown snow and it's always cold and your feet are always wet and your fingers are always icy cold and red.

I just want the sun,

Stephanie thought to herself.

I just want to be somewhere else.

Stephanie had had family at home for the holidays and it had been a really long time since she wore her magical earrings.

Everyone had gone home.

The snow was still falling.

She thought maybe this is the perfect day to just disappear for a while in Moonbow Forest.

Stephanie ran upstairs,

Closed her bedroom door behind her,

Sat down at her dressing table,

Opened up her jewelry box and pulled out her magical earrings.

She stared at herself in the mirror.

She was thinking about if she'd ever been to Moonbow Forest at this time of the year.

She put one of her earrings in and felt the slightest twinge and twitch of electricity run through the left side of her body.

She put the final earring in on the right ear,

Felt the same twitch run through the right side of her body.

She closed her eyes and took the biggest deep breath.

Her nose started to tingle.

She got that familiar popping,

Twitching sound in her ears.

Her whole body started to gently buzz and vibrate and then she stared out into the dark space there in front of her mind.

And there was the curtain.

The familiar veil between this world and Moonbow Forest.

It twinkled and sparkled.

And if you looked really close at the curtain,

It looked like it had silver and gold twine twisted through it.

She pulled back the curtain and stepped forward into Moonbow Forest.

There was lots of noises.

It was so much noisier than the last couple of times she'd been there.

It sounded like a party.

There was laughing and giggling,

Music playing,

People dancing.

You could hear pots and pans clanging.

You could hear the sound of unicorns neighing and making their noises.

Stephanie looked around and saw where all the noise was coming from.

When you first enter into Moonbow Forest,

You're normally surrounded with trees.

Lots of tall,

Big,

Giant,

Beautiful trees that,

As we know,

When you look closer,

Are made of chocolate.

But she looked through the trees and saw a crowd of what looked like all different animals gathered around,

Jumping and dancing and obviously having a very good time.

Stephanie spotted Luna and a couple of other unicorns.

She shouted out,

Luna!

Luna pricked up her ears.

She was bobbing for apples in a big,

Giant barrel of water with bright red apples popping up and down inside of there.

There were three different unicorn noses in that barrel,

All trying to get apples,

Shiny red apples.

As she looked up,

She got water dripping off the end of her nose.

She knaved and shook her head.

Stephanie!

She shouted.

She motioned with her head to come over and Stephanie started to run through the long,

Soft grass.

Everything smelled the same.

So fresh and vibrant.

Everything there in Moonbow Forest always smelled so sweet.

Everything was always so good to eat.

She was wondering if you could eat the grass.

What flavor would it be?

Probably mint or lime,

She thought to herself.

And then she got close enough to figure out exactly what was going on there.

There must have been thousands and thousands of the tiniest little fairies but when you looked at them,

They were only about the size of a fly.

You know,

When a fly gets in the house and it's flying around,

Imagine looking really,

Really,

Really,

Really close at that fly and seeing that it's not even a fly.

It's actually one of the cutest little fairies you've ever seen.

They were everywhere.

They were all different colors.

They were so,

So cute.

Stephanie knew that fairies were small but she'd never seen any this small.

They were all making like buzzy humming,

Soft giggly noises.

And when they all giggled at the same time,

It was like a chorus of thousands and thousands of fairies giggling.

Apparently it was Fairy Dust Festival.

Fairy Dust Festival happens once a year there at Moonbow Forest.

It's a time when all the fairies gather together in that one part of the forest and they celebrate life.

They celebrate friendship.

They celebrate happiness.

They celebrate love.

They celebrate community.

They all come together for a ginormous,

Fantastic Fairy Dust Festival party.

There's all sorts of things happen at these parties.

Luna started to fill Stephanie in on exactly what it was all about.

There was games.

There was dancing.

And then something very special happened.

It was called Fairy Dust Festival because after the part of the party where all the fairies come together and do their special dance which had not happened yet.

Stephanie was just in time.

After that dance they do something very magical.

Luna said they all swarm down around each one of the animals here.

All the different animals out of the forest.

And if the animal is pure of heart and has good intentions they sprinkle Fairy Dust on it and it turns into a fairy.

Only for five minutes.

But for five minutes Stephanie you get to feel what it's like to be a fairy.

All of these animals are here today because they want to get wings.

They want to know what it feels like to fly.

Luna said I'm already lucky.

I know what it feels like to fly.

You know what it feels like to fly on the back of me.

But do you know what it feels like to have your own wings?

That is special my friend.

Stephanie was very excited.

I hope my heart is pure enough she said to Luna.

Luna said they have a very special way of telling if your heart is pure.

But first of all it's almost time for the dance.

Come sit with me and all the other unicorns and watch what happens.

Stephanie walked over to the area where all the unicorns were gathered.

But there were so many animals there that day.

There were deer.

There were rabbits.

There were elk.

There were bunny rabbits.

You name it.

So many different animals all wanting to hopefully get to fly and be a fairy for five minutes.

All of a sudden everything went quiet.

So quiet.

The music stopped.

The chatter.

The giggles.

The pans.

The pots.

All the noises stopped.

The animals almost stopped breathing.

It was so quiet.

Stephanie's eyes got big.

She looked up at Luna as if to say what's happening and Luna just looked at her as if to say just watch.

The sweetest sound started to come from a bush.

A bush that had the prettiest flowers that were shaped like violins.

The flowers in the violin bush started to play music.

It was like listening to angels playing the violin.

The sounds were so mesmerizing.

So enchanting.

Stephanie felt funny.

She felt as if her whole body was starting to get light and dizzy.

Her heart got super fast and then it felt like her heart was going to burst out of her chest.

She thought to herself maybe this music is something that preps you for when they test to see if you're pure of heart because something was definitely happening in Stephanie's heart.

She wanted to just close her eyes and let her body start to float up to the sky.

It was a really weird sensation but she didn't.

She stayed grounded.

She could feel the grass underneath her feet and then all the fairies flew together in a big giant ball.

Imagine thousands and thousands and thousands of tiny little fairies all flying together hovering off the ground in the shape of a big giant ball.

The violin bush played its music and just like that the fairies became instinctively connected to the music.

They started to move with the different tones and sounds and vibrations.

They were making shapes like a flock of birds in the sky following each other.

They made the shape of a spiral that looked like it was going as high as the eyes could see.

Then they just as quickly made the shape of a love heart and they moved in and out as if the heart was pulsing and beating with the music.

Stephanie's heart was definitely pulsing and beating with the music.

There was something very magical about this bush.

Stephanie whispered up to Luna,

I feel strange.

Is that normal?

Luna said,

It's the music.

Just go with the music.

She really had never heard anything as beautiful in her entire life.

Her eyes were watering as if she was going to cry.

It was so pretty.

The fairies made the shape of a star and then it twisted into the shape of a flower and then they changed again and morphed into the shape of a moon,

A crescent moon.

It was mesmerizing.

Stephanie looked around and noticed that all of the animals looked just as mesmerized as she did.

It was like everyone was in a trance watching the fairies do their thing and then all of a sudden the fairies started to swoosh down in giant,

Giant groups,

Hovering over all of the different animals and then they would go really close to the animal's heart and then just stop.

As if they were listening.

They were tuning in,

Listening to the heart of all the different animals.

They did exactly the same to Stephanie.

There must have been two or three hundred of them all swarmed in front of her heart center and just listened.

The wings were so silent but so fast.

They were so fast she could barely see them moving when something's that fast that you can't even see it and it just looks like it's still but it's not.

It's fast.

Just like that.

Like a hummingbird.

They listened to Stephanie's heart.

Stephanie panicked a little bit and thought what if I'm not good enough?

What if my heart is not good enough?

And then just like that all the fairies resumed their place in a big giant ball flying above everyone there in the forest.

Stephanie felt the strangest sensation on her back.

Her back was itching like something itchy was on her back.

It was scratching her back.

And that's when she felt wings.

She had wings.

She looked at Luna and Luna looked down at her and smiled.

I knew it said Luna.

I have wings.

I have wings said Stephanie.

Oh my gosh what am I going to do?

What do I do?

What do I do?

Luna said you fly Stephanie.

Stephanie just instinctively started to flap her wings and as she flapped her wings unfolded and got really big they were white white glistening transparent wings.

They were so pretty.

Oh my god my wings are so pretty.

They're so pretty.

She looked down at herself and she had a purplish white tiny little dress.

Purple white shoes.

She had a purple white bracelet.

A purple white pearl ring.

She had purple white pearls around her eyes.

How do I look Luna?

Luna said you look just like a fairy.

Stephanie said oh my this is just amazing.

And as she did so her heart opened up even more with the excitement and happiness she was feeling.

And as her heart opened up with the excitement and happiness that she was feeling her feet lifted up off the ground and her wings started to move.

Luna said the happier you get the higher you fly.

No way said Stephanie.

That's why they check your heart because if your heart isn't open and you can't get happy and it's not pure and loving and kind then how would you fly?

Luna said that's the magic.

You've got it Stephanie.

Now go go with all the other animals go and fly and enjoy yourself.

You've only got five minutes.

Stephanie looked around and the rabbits that were flying were flying.

The deers,

The elks,

All the animals that passed the test were flying.

They all had wings.

They'd all turned into fairies.

All these new baby fairies.

Learner fairies were all hovering off the ground flying,

Giggling and laughing at each other.

They flew all over Moonbow Forest.

She flew over the river.

She flew over all the different things that she'd seen and visited in Moonbow Forest before.

This was the best ever.

This is so much better than snow she thought.

I wish I could share this with my friends.

I wish sometime I could take some of my friends here to Moonbow Forest.

This made her a little bit sad and when she got sad she sunk down as if she was going to bump bump bump and just fall on the ground and then she remembered.

Oh no no stay happy stay happy Stephanie.

And as she did so and she thought about something happy like Ice Cream Mountain then she started to fly really really high.

Maybe I could visit Ice Cream Mountain she thought.

It's been a while since I've been there.

I love that place.

Stephanie started to fly towards Ice Cream Mountain.

She landed at the very very top.

The very very top was mint chocolate chip.

Mmm mmm delicious.

She wondered if she could just slid down from the top.

She would be able to probably get a little bit of flavor from all the different places on the mountain.

She could stick out a tongue just at the right time and lick a bit of strawberry and lick a bit of banana a little bit of watermelon and just taste all the different flavors.

But then she decided no no this is this is so much better.

I only have like two or three minutes left to fly.

So up she was again in the sky.

At one point she almost flew into a bunny rabbit fairy.

They both giggled and started to fly higher and higher.

This is just so much fun.

I wish I could tell everyone about this.

Then again she got a little bit sad because she thought I can't I can't.

And then she started to sink down and down and down as if she was going to land in the river down below.

It is a strawberry milkshake river she thought to herself it would be delicious but no no no think happy thoughts I want to fly I want to fly.

Then she would just fly back up again.

She was just going up and down with her emotions.

Kind of like what we do anyway right.

Sometimes we feel really really up and happy.

Sometimes we feel really really low and heavy.

Stephanie was doing that but she was doing it with wings and it was instant results.

She got a funny feeling in her tummy and then without even trying her wings started to fly her back towards all the other animals and Luna and the unicorns and all the other fairies.

It only took a minute before she was back.

She gracefully landed on the ground and instantly turned back into Stephanie.

She looked at Luna and gave her the biggest smile.

This was definitely worth the trip.

Luna said you'll have to remember exactly this day and come back next year.

Remember the fairy dust festival only happens once a year.

Stephanie realized it was probably time to come home.

Her mum was expecting her to tidy her bedroom.

She said her goodbyes to everyone.

She thanked all the fairies for giving her the bestest experience.

And then just like that she stepped off the grass and found herself sitting staring into the mirror on her dresser.

She took off her earrings and started to tidy her room.
