As the sun begins to sink lower in the sky and the nights become chilly,
Before our eyes even notice the fiery-hued leaves changing,
Our senses tell us that the energy of summer has come to an end.
The autumn equinox is a meaningful time of year,
When the day is equally as long as the night.
It's a time for beautiful self-reflection,
So long as you are looking for it.
Welcome to Coached by Nikki Dyer.
Let your body find a comfortable seated position,
As you face both palms so they are ready to receive your eyes if they aren't already.
Relax your mind and turn your attention to your breath as you begin to take slow inhales and slow exhales.
Letting your breath become equal parts of in,
And noticing an internal peace,
One that wasn't there a minute ago.
The beginning of a season offers us a blank slate,
With its cooler,
Darker days.
It's a time of year when we reap the fruits from our labor of the past.
We gain clarity around preserving which things we want to hold close to us,
And allow the aspects of life that are no longer serving to fall away.
Take a balanced breath in,
And an equal breath out.
I want to honor all that you have in your life,
And for all of the ways this year has changed you,
And to make room for all that's still to come.
Together we take the next 60 seconds to honor the harvest,
The harvest of goals and intentions you set or planted when this year began,
To take stock of how your life has been evolving and growing,
And to give thanks for what you have received along the way.
As this practice comes to an end,
Let's invite a rebalancing,
Your desires,
And needs.
They change just as the seasons do,
It's a good time to consider what no longer serves you,
What it is you need to let go of.
Autumn teaches us the beauty of letting go,
For even the trees know that growth always requires release.
Take a final deep breath in,
And a balancing breath out,
And when you are ready,
Open your eyes.
