Today,
We're going to take a moment to reflect on appreciation.
How we can bring more of it into our lives,
And how it can shape the way we see the world.
Right now,
Wherever you are,
I want you to take a deep breath in,
And let it out slowly.
Let your mind settle,
And open yourself to the present moment.
Appreciation is about noticing the little things.
It's about seeing the beauty in what's around us,
In the people we care about,
The opportunities we've been given,
And even the challenges that make us stronger.
Too often,
We rush through our days,
Often focused on the next task,
The next goal.
But,
If we don't stop to appreciate where we are,
We miss out on a lot of the joy in life.
Now,
As you breathe in,
I want you to think of something you may take for granted.
It could be something as simple as the roof over your head,
A friend that you can count on,
Or even the fact that you're here,
Listening,
Taking this time for yourself.
Take a moment to truly appreciate it.
Hold onto that feeling.
Appreciation doesn't just happen,
It's something we practice.
After this meditation,
I encourage you to try something simple.
Each day,
Take a few minutes to reflect on three things you are thankful for.
It could be in the morning before you start your day,
Or at night before you sleep.
You might also want to reach out to someone and tell them what they mean to you.
You'd be surprised at the power of a few thoughtful words.
And don't worry if you forget to do it sometimes.
The key is to keep coming back to it.
Gratitude and appreciation are like muscles.
The more we work on them,
The stronger they become.
That's why you're most welcome to return to this moment,
This space,
And this practice.
So,
As you go about your day,
Remember this,
There's always something to appreciate.
Take the time to notice it,
To acknowledge it,
And to let that appreciation guide how you live.
Thank you for being here with me today.
Let's carry this sense of gratitude forward,
One breath at a time.
