Let's begin by arriving here,
Let your body rest wherever it is,
Feel your feet on the floor or the support underneath you.
Now just notice the breath as it moves in and out.
You don't need to change anything,
Just begin to notice what's already here.
Let yourself settle,
There's nothing to fix,
Nothing to achieve,
Just this moment and the quiet presence of your breath.
And now gently I want to talk to you about the chase,
The quiet but persistent chase for peace.
It's often invisible,
We don't know we're doing it.
It hides beneath the goals,
The habits,
The constant trying.
Sometimes it hides in the work we do,
Sometimes in the routines we follow,
Even in the practices we turn to for calm.
And yet none of these things are bad.
The difficulty comes when we believe they are the source of peace,
When we think peace lives somewhere outside of us,
Waiting to be earned,
Waiting to be found,
Waiting to be deserved.
But what if that's never been true?
From the three principles perspective,
Peace isn't a reward for effort.
It's not something we gain through control or striving.
It's not out there in the circumstances,
Relationships or practices.
It's already here,
Beneath the noise,
Beneath the thought,
Beneath the striving.
So let's just return to the body again.
Notice the breath,
The stillness between the inhale and the exhale,
The sensation of your body resting,
Wherever it is.
You don't have to create peace.
This meditation isn't making peace happen.
It's simply offering a space for you to glimpse what was already here.
Even now,
Thought may be still swirling.
You might still feel busy inside,
But that's okay.
You don't need to clear your mind.
Just notice that there is a space beneath the movement,
A quieter layer that isn't stirred by the thoughts passing through.
That space is peace.
It's not something to get to.
It's something that becomes visible when the chase softens.
From the three principles understanding,
All experience is created from the inside out.
What you feel comes not from the world,
But from thoughts in the moment.
The search for peace is so often built on a misunderstanding of this.
It's innocent,
It's human,
But it's also tiring.
And when we see it for what it is,
A chase based on misunderstanding,
Something softens.
We don't have to try so hard.
We don't have to fix or manage or control.
We begin to realize peace was never missing.
It was just obscured.
Let's pause together now.
Feel your breath again.
Let your shoulders drop.
Allow your jaw to soften.
Feel your presence settle back into this moment.
There's nowhere to get to.
There's no technique to master,
No outcome to secure.
Just this.
This body.
This breath.
This moment.
And underneath it all,
Peace.
Already here.
Already whole.
Take a moment now in silence to rest in that knowing.
The knowing that peace is always already here.
You haven't created this peace.
You've simply stopped chasing long enough to feel it.
As we draw this meditation to a close,
Carry that remembrance with you.
You don't have to search.
You don't have to earn it.
Peace is not missing.
It's just waiting to be seen.
Thank you for being here.
Take your time as you return.
And know that you can revisit this space anytime you pause and remember.
Peace is within.
It's never out there.
It's available to you in the next breath.
Thank you.
