Welcome,
Let's begin slowly,
Gently.
There's nothing you need to do right now,
Nowhere you need to get to.
This is a space for rest,
For stillness,
For arriving back into yourself.
You might like to close your eyes or soften your gaze and just allow yourself to land.
Begin by feeling your body just as it is.
Notice the shape of you right here,
The weight of you,
The way your body is being held by the surface beneath you.
You don't need to change anything,
Just feel it.
And now gently bring awareness to your breath,
Not to control it,
But simply to feel it.
Let it be natural,
Let it be yours.
Breathing in and out,
Rising and falling.
Notice how the breath happens by itself.
There's no effort needed,
Just presence.
And now,
Perhaps you begin to feel something softening.
Maybe your shoulders,
Maybe your jaw,
Maybe the pace of your thought.
Even if the mind is still active,
Notice the peace that's here underneath.
A quietness,
A steadiness.
It's not coming from what you're doing.
It's not coming from these words.
It's already here.
This meditation isn't creating peace in you.
It's simply giving you the chance to notice it.
Peace is always within you,
Always available.
What we're doing now is gently settling enough to glimpse it.
So just take a few more moments here.
Breathing,
Being,
Letting the moment hold you,
Letting your experience be exactly as it is.
And now,
Without trying to move anywhere,
Just stay with that awareness.
You may start to notice that,
Even without trying,
Something has shifted.
There is space.
There is calm.
There is peace.
Now let's reflect together.
So many of us are caught in a loop of doing,
Fixing and improving,
Hoping it will finally lead to peace.
We think that if we work hard enough,
Heal deeply enough,
Or get everything just right,
Then peace will arrive.
But peace doesn't work that way.
The three principles understanding points to something very different.
It shows us that our experience is always created from the inside out.
Not from our job title.
Not from our relationships.
Not from what's happening out there in the world.
But from the thoughts we're believing in any given moment.
And when we don't see this,
It's completely natural to go searching outside.
We start striving.
In our career.
In our morning routine.
In our relationships.
Even in our spiritual practice.
We try to think the right thought.
We try to do the right things.
We try to become someone more peaceful than who we are now.
But all of this effort is based on a misunderstanding.
We believe that peace is missing.
We believe that something needs to be added,
Changed or fixed.
We believe we're not there yet.
And so we chase.
It's a well-intentioned chase.
It's full of hope and longing.
But it's exhausting.
Because no matter how far we run,
Peace never quite arrives.
Or if it does,
It flickers and slips away.
And so we run again.
But in this quiet moment now,
Here are some questions to contemplate.
What if peace isn't something you have to earn?
What if peace doesn't arrive at the end of your effort?
What if peace is already here beneath the noise?
Let pause again.
Feel your breath.
Feel your feet or the weight of your body.
And listen.
There is a stillness that has never left you.
Even in moments of stress or exhaustion.
Even in the depths of anxiety or overwhelm.
There is something in you that hasn't been touched.
A stillness.
A knowing.
A peace.
This meditation isn't giving you that.
It's not creating calm in you.
It's simply pointing.
Pointing back to something that's already true.
Because the three principles shows us that peace isn't the result of what's happening.
It's what remains when the misunderstanding falls away.
When we stop believing that peace is in the next achievement,
The next routine,
The next breakthrough.
We begin to see that it's always been here.
Always.
You are peace.
You are love.
You are wisdom.
And the only thing that ever obscures that is thought.
Just passing thought.
And even that thought isn't a problem.
It's not your enemy.
It's not something to battle or manage.
It's just the creative energy of life moving through you.
Sometimes it looks noisy.
Sometimes it tells you you're not okay.
Sometimes it tells you to chase.
But you don't have to believe it.
Just for now,
Could you let it pass?
Could you let go even for a moment of the idea that there's something to do?
Just breathe.
Just be and notice what's already here.
This may feel unfamiliar at first.
We're so used to doing,
So used to fixing,
So used to striving.
But none of that is required here.
Right now,
You don't need to make peace happen.
You only need to notice what's not changing.
Even when thought is moving.
Peace doesn't come from outside.
It doesn't come from having your life in order.
It doesn't come from doing everything right.
Peace is already here.
And when thought quietens,
Even for a breath,
You remember.
You remember who you are beneath the striving.
You remember the stillness that has always been yours.
So for these final moments,
Let's return again to the body.
Feel the breath just as it is.
Notice the rise and fall.
Feel the support beneath you.
No effort.
No doing.
Just being.
Let this space be a reminder.
A quiet moment of reconnection.
Not to something new.
But to something you've always known.
Peace isn't something you find.
It's something you stop chasing.
So it can find you.
And it will.
It always does.
Because it was never lost.
Only obscured.
And now,
You see again.
You can take this feeling of peace into the rest of your day.
I invite you to gently open your eyes.
Feel some movement in your fingers and toes.
And gently move back into your day.
Knowing that this feeling of peace is yours.
It's who you truly are.
