Here's a few minutes to reconnect with truth from a three principles perspective.
From a three principles perspective,
Feelings are a manifestation of thought that's believed in the moment.
We all have feelings.
We all have feelings that can be experienced as intense.
I think we think we know what somebody else is feeling because they might look like they're holding it all together,
So they couldn't possibly be experiencing the same intensity of emotion as me.
I don't think that's true.
I think we all experience intense emotions sometimes.
So let's start there by normalizing the experience of emotions as a completely standard human thing.
There's nothing wrong with you if you're experiencing intense emotions.
It just means that you're caught up in some pretty intense thinking and that's really,
Really normal.
The other thing that I think is really helpful to know about emotions is probably something that you've experienced but maybe not noticed,
And that is that they're temporary,
That they pass,
That there is a flow going on,
Like weather going across your true self,
Which is like the sky.
It's passing through.
And when we see that,
It becomes a little easier to let them flow through.
They're not something that you can fix,
Although it's tempting to try.
They're not something that you need to do anything about,
They're not a sign there's something wrong with you or something wrong with the outside world.
The truth of you is not your thoughts and emotions anyway.
The truth of you is the space that all that experience passes through,
The awareness of all that experience passing through.
Now,
Just like the weather passing across the sky,
If we try to fix that,
If we try to change it,
If we try to do something about it,
We tend to get in the way.
Can you imagine what it would be like if we tried to mess around with the weather by putting a great big probe up into the sky?
I suspect we'd cause more harm than good,
Wouldn't we?
So I hope this few minutes we've spent together has been a little bit helpful in terms of you seeing that it's not your emotions that are causing any kind of issue for any of us human beings,
It is that we believe they're a problem.
As soon as we stop believing they're a problem,
There's a great deal of peace to be found.
This aligns with my very favourite Sidney Banks quote,
Which is,
If the only thing that people learnt was not to be afraid of their experience,
That alone would change the world.
I hope you feel a little less afraid of your experience now.
Take care,
Lots of love,
And please stay in the conversation.
