Feel free and let go. Originally created for BBC Radio London. In this meditation, you will expand your awareness away from any worries and stress in your physical world and float above the clouds in gratitude and freedom.

Transcript

Sit up or lie down and be comfortable.

If sitting,

Lengthen up through the spine and ascend the energy right up through the crown of the head.

If lying down,

Allow the energy and weight of the body to melt into the earth beneath you.

Take a full breath in through the nose and as you exhale,

Breathe a big sigh and allow the eyes to gently close.

Repeat the breath twice more,

Inhale,

Exhale,

Inhale,

Exhale.

As you continue to breathe exclusively through the nostrils,

Imagine the breath is moving in through the heart center and imagine the breath is moving out through the heart center.

Inhale through the heart,

Exhale through the heart.

Exhale through the heart,

Exhale through the heart.

Continue like this and relax all features of the face inwards.

Soften the jaw,

Lips,

Cheeks,

Nose,

Eyeballs and the frown of the forehead releases and relaxes.

As you allow the mind and body to rest here,

Begin to create this picture in your mind.

It is a beautiful summer's day and you are lying down on a blanket in the middle of a park or field surrounded by wildflowers and beautiful green trees.

You feel the softness of the grass beneath your body.

The sun warms through to your bones and the gentle breeze brushing against your skin is creating the perfect temperature to relax.

The birds chirp and chatter their pretty songs and the leaves rustle as the breeze rises and falls like a wave over the body.

You are free to let go and relax even deeper.

You gaze upwards towards the clouds and notice the clouds moving above you ever so slowly across the crystal blue sky.

See how soft and gentle they are drifting,

Changing,

Swirling and dancing through the sky.

Notice yourself feeling lighter and lighter and slowly begin to lift your awareness upwards leaving the physical body beneath you.

As you float effortlessly upwards to join the clouds,

Notice how easily you are able to look down on your world beneath you and how small your worries,

Concerns,

Stresses and strain seem to be from up here.

Begin to drift and float even higher now,

Watching everything below you getting smaller and smaller until you can barely even see it beneath you at all.

You are finally reaching the clouds and as you approach you can feel the coolness of the clouds against your skin and everything turning white.

Your mind is empty,

Still and completely clear.

From this place of perfect peace you realize there is still a little way to go.

Moving your way upwards you pass directly through the clouds,

Bursting out into an explosion of energizing sunlight.

The clouds now beneath you forming a soft blanket of white.

Up here you are warmed and energized by the sun's rays.

You are completely free.

What does this freedom feel like to you?

Feel it with your heart.

Allow your heart to bloom in freedom,

Feeling whole and alive with this energy of the sun.

And take a moment here and feel grateful for this expansive experience of freedom.

You can access this whenever you need to,

Whenever you want.

Know it,

Feel it.

Now as you rest in the healing light,

Notice that there is a strong and bright ray of sunlight beaming through the clouds all the way back down to earth.

And gently in your own time begin to follow this beam of sunlight downwards.

Floating effortlessly downwards at the perfect pace for you.

Down down down all the way to join your body down there in the shining sunlight.

As you rejoin your body feel as if you are coming back to a new body,

To a new time and to a new state of mind.

A body that is soft,

Flexible and strong.

And to a mind that is uplifted,

Clear and sure.

To a time where you are free to experience the fullness of life.

And when you are ready you can open your eyes and bring yourself back into this beautiful new day.
