Close the eyes and rest the hands on the knees.

Lengthen up through the spine and let yourself be supported and steady.

Allow the muscles of the face,

The shoulders and the legs to just let go.

Bring your attention to the breath.

Finish your exhale and then take a deep breath of oxygen into the lungs and exhale release it through the mouth.

Inhale feel the breath cleaning and clearing through the mind and exhale let it go.

One more inhale fresh vibrant energy into the heart and exhale release old energy.

Now bring the lips together and continue breathing.

Focus the awareness on the mind at the brow and focus the awareness on the heart.

Imagine an invisible line joining these two so that as you inhale the attention moves from the brow to the heart and as you exhale from the heart to the brow.

Exhale brow to heart,

Exhale heart to brow and just continue like this.

Begin to notice any emotions,

Anything at all.

If anything is still a little uncomfortable then allow it to leave with the breath so you may want to make the exhale a little longer this time.

Now take a moment to reflect on the many things you feel grateful for.

First of all the gift of life.

The life that you are experiencing on this planet in this moment.

The many chemical reactions that go on in your body without you even realizing.

Always to keep each cell regenerating,

Renewing and to keep the heart beating strong giving life force to all the organs.

Allow yourself to feel energized and alive and take a moment to appreciate life in this moment.

You are pure energy in physical form.

Now take a moment to think of all the things you have around you.

The tap in your kitchen that provides you with fresh clean water.

The roof over your head.

The windows that let the light in or the switch on the wall that makes things brighter.

The clothes you have.

Feel appreciation for all these simple things.

Now take a moment to reflect on all the people in your environment.

The thousands of people who work hard every day.

Many without knowing you at all who make your life easier and more pleasant.

The people who work to get food onto the shelves.

The people who care for your health.

The people who collect your rubbish.

The people who entertain you,

Who make you laugh.

The people who maintain phone lines and the internet.

In the environment around you see the variety and the power in people whom you don't even know.

Feel appreciation for the people who make it easier for you to feel connected.

Finally,

Let's sit with the notion that sometimes life can be uneasy or difficult.

But these hard times we have nothing to compare against when things become good again.

So today feel appreciation even for the difficult times.

Perhaps the contrast we are experiencing today could be what enables the world to erupt into a more expansive,

Exciting version of life.

Feel grateful for that.

Slowly bring the awareness back and mindfully finding appreciation in all the small things that the rest of this day brings.

Be receptive.

Namaste.
