This meditation is an invitation to connect and cleanse with the light of the full moon.
Although it is best to listen to this on the evening of a full moon or a few days either side of it,
You can call upon the cleansing energy of the moon at any time of the month.
Find a comfortable position,
Either seated or laying down,
And allow your eyes to gently close.
Take a deep breath in,
Filling up your body,
Then exhale,
Letting your breath go completely.
In your imagination,
Visualize the full moon shining above your body.
It may seem far in the distance,
Amongst the stars and planets,
Or it may be close by to you.
You can imagine it however it feels best.
As the moon rests there,
Suspended in the air above you,
You feel a sense of calmness wash over you.
The moon has been witness to generations of your ancestors.
It has waxed and waned through the sky over the years.
Its constant commitment to its cyclic nature reminds you too of the cycles that exist within you.
This knowledge brings you into a state of awe,
One of wonder and gratitude.
The magic of the moon is here for you tonight to connect and cleanse so that you are ready to move into your next cycle.
Tune into the light that the full moon radiates now.
See its soft,
Gentle glow shining down onto your body.
As the moonlight touches your skin,
Feel the cooling effect that it brings.
Perhaps this moonlight even brings a sensation of cooling in and through your mind,
Emptying your mind of thoughts,
Clearing away any worries or stress and reminding you of the present moment.
Take a deep breath,
Inviting this cool moonlight into your lungs.
As you sip in the freshness of this light,
You feel how wonderful it is to be full of this calming energy.
As you exhale,
You let go and you feel lighter.
Take another deep breath in,
This time feeling the light move deeper into your body,
All the way down into your belly and hips.
Exhale to release the light back out.
And inhale,
This time drawing the light all the way down into your legs and feet.
Exhale,
Feel the light move out through you.
Inhale,
Feeling the light move through your heart space and arms.
Exhale,
Feeling lighter with every breath out.
Continue to breathe like this for the next few moments,
Allowing the moonlight to travel wherever it needs to go.
Lunar light cleanses each part of your body,
Mind and spirit that it touches.
Here under the full moon is a chance to really let go of the things inside of you that you no longer need.
Let go of the things that no longer serve your highest purpose.
Let go of all the things that are holding you back from reaching your greatest potential.
Inhale to brighten your body,
Your mind,
Your spirit and exhale to gently let go.
Take one final deep breath in,
Filling your entire body with this cool cleansing moonlight.
And this time as you exhale,
You can gently open your eyes.
Notice how you feel in your body and mind.
As you move through the rest of this full moon period,
Know that you have cleansed the old to make space for the new.
Keep an eye out for any signs trying to make their way into your life.
Your new cycle has just begun.
