Hello,
My name is Catherine Cook-Couton and this meditation is titled Your Healing Hands Meditation.
Before I start,
Be sure you're seated in a comfortable position.
Find your feet and then press them into the earth if you're in a chair or if you're sitting on a cushion,
Legs crossed.
See if your legs can be well supported by the earth.
And then press your sitting bones into your seat.
Pressing into your legs or your feet,
Your sitting bones lift and extend through your core so that your spine is well supported.
Soften your shoulders,
Soften your jaw and breathe here.
Well grounded,
Well supported,
Shoulders soft,
Jaw soft,
Eyes soft.
And take a few deep breaths here.
Yeah,
Just letting yourself land right here in this moment.
Now place your hands open on your thighs,
Palms facing up and let them gently rest here,
Making sure they feel well supported.
Allow your mind to settle,
Open up into listening,
Open up into inquiry,
Into I wonder,
Into the possibility of this meditation for you.
See if you can let go of the need for this meditation or this moment to be any certain way.
Noticing your breath as you breathe in and noticing your breath as you breathe out.
Settling here in your seat,
Grounded,
Well supported,
Palms supported,
Facing up.
Now sitting here on your cushion or your chair,
Imagine that the universe is filled with a beautiful healing energy.
Imagine it's everywhere,
Above you and around you.
It is everywhere.
What color would you like your healing energy to be?
And maybe it's not even what you like but it's what you're noticing.
Is it red?
Is it orange?
Maybe yellow?
A green?
A blue?
An indigo?
A violet?
What color or colors do you see when you imagine a beautiful healing energy all around you?
Pause and breathe here and see this,
This energy,
This color,
This healing energy all around you.
Imagine it and breathe.
Know that this is the same energy that makes flowers and trees grow.
It's the energy that powers wild horses when they run through fields.
This energy warms hearts when they feel love and it's present when us humans share a laugh together.
This energy can heal wounds,
Emotional and physical.
It can heal illness.
Breathe here surrounded by this beautiful healing energy.
Now imagine that this energy could be channeled through you.
That you have the capacity to organize,
To synthesize and direct this energy.
Imagine that this energy comes through the very top of your head softly,
Powerfully with a gentle warmth and a sensation of radiating love.
Notice that this energy might then move through you,
Through the crown of your head,
Into your heart and right through your heart into your arms and all the way into your hands that are resting on your thighs,
The palms facing up.
Know that you need not be perfect.
You need not be without mistakes,
Without errors,
Without tough times to receive this healing energy.
You simply need to be.
Press down your feet,
Find your sitting bones,
Lift through your core and allow this energy to enter in through the crown of your head,
Down in through your heart and then out through your arms and radiating into the palms of your hands.
Your hands now become these powerful tools for concentrating and sharing this wonderful healing energy of the universe.
More since this energy has gone through your heart,
It also offers the loving kindness that is just unique to you.
Bring your awareness to your hands and notice the very center of the palms of your hands.
Notice any energy or sensations in the center of your palms,
The center of your hands.
Breathe here,
Imagining the healing energy from the universe moving through you,
From your head,
Through your heart,
Into your arms and out through the palms of your hands.
Breathe here and allow for the possibility of this energy being focused,
Concentrated and released through your hands.
Now bring to mind an area of your body that is in need of healing or support.
Breathe and notice this area,
Any sensations,
Maybe there's discomfort or some pain that you might be aware of and then gently bring your hands to this spot.
Place your hands on this spot in a way that makes sense for your body and where you're feeling any discomfort or a need for healing or support.
There's no right way to place your hands,
Just finding the best way that fits for your body in this moment.
Now allow the healing energy to move from the universe into the crown of your head,
Through your heart,
Through your arms,
Into your hands and now radiating into the part of your body that is in need of healing and support and love.
Remember this energy is the same energy that makes flowers and trees grow,
That powers wild horses when they run through fields,
That warms hearts when they feel love and is present in us humans when we share a loving laugh together.
This is the energy that heals wounds,
Emotional and physical.
Place here and allow this energy to move into your body.
As you finish offering this beautiful healing energy into this part of your body,
Slowly bring your hands to your own heart.
Place your right hand on your heart and your left hand on top of your right hand.
Allow the energy to fill your heart,
To surround your heart and to thank your heart.
You are filled with healing and supportive energy.
Starting here,
When you are ready,
Place your hands back down on your thighs,
Palms facing up.
Coming back to where we started,
Feet grounded,
Sit bones pressing down,
Reaching through the crown of your head,
Noticing the energy cycle from the crown of your head,
Through your heart,
Down your arms and out through your palms and now back out to the universe.
Breathing,
Knowing this cycle of healing energy can move through you whenever you invite it in.
Taking a few breaths here,
Allowing the energy of this meditation to settle.
Maybe you begin to deepen and lengthen your breaths a bit,
Being sure to maintain your grounded seat and your extended spine.
You might add a noticing of your breath,
Breathing in,
I know I'm breathing in and breathing out,
I know I'm breathing out and breathing in,
I know I'm breathing in and breathing out,
I know I am breathing out.
You might want to take a few moments breathing,
Considering what this meditation means to you,
Maybe for you.
You may even want to journal about this meditation and what you noticed or might have considered.
