Welcome.
In this meditation that we will be sharing today,
We will be covering the topic of overwhelm.
We will be moving into the emotions and the experience that create overwhelm in our lives and learn some very important techniques for moving through this experience of limitation.
And so I invite you to start by taking a comfortable position of meditation.
So this posture might be seated for you or perhaps it's laying down.
Just find the position that is comfortable for you.
Let's begin by taking three really deep breaths.
So in through the nose and then an audible exhale out of the mouth.
Two more of those.
As you release your third breath,
Settle yourself into presence.
So when you make the choice to move into meditation,
You have made the choice to be consciously aware.
And awareness really is a product,
Result of being present.
So when you are overwhelmed,
When you are in the feeling of overwhelm,
It's really important to understand that this feeling is a product of your ego.
It's a distraction tactic that your ego uses to keep you safe.
This isn't a bad thing or something to get rid of.
Rather,
It's an opportunity to go deeper,
To really tap into the internal strength and knowing that helps to see you move forward.
Overwhelm is a habit.
When we are often overwhelmed in certain circumstances or with certain areas of our life,
It is really likely that this is rooted in an earlier memory or habit or pattern that at one time kept you safe.
And so I invite you to consider an area in your life or a situation where you are currently feeling overwhelmed or stuck or perhaps you just simply do not know how to move forward.
You might have lost your vision.
And so set the intention to make the unconscious conscious,
To bring forward what in your life is creating overwhelm.
So bring this up actively in your mind's eye into your physical,
Mental,
Spiritual experience and really allow it to be there.
So give it some time.
Welcome it in for tea.
And now let's ask some very essential questions to help figure out why.
Why the overwhelm is here?
What does it have to teach us?
And so let's ask this question first.
Where has this feeling come from?
Where has this feeling of overwhelm come from?
What created it?
What caused it?
Allow your unconscious,
Your subconscious to come forward and answer.
To give your ego an opportunity to share its truth.
Now ask the question,
How has this served you in the past?
How has this response to circumstance or to your desire to do something or be something or shift or change?
How has this feeling of overwhelm,
This feeling of limitation actually served you in the past?
How has it kept you safe?
You might have to remember all the way back to childhood and it can actually be quite powerful if you are comfortable going there to ask yourself,
When is the first time that I felt this experience of overwhelm?
And really consider how it once served you.
And now as we start to bring the unconscious into the conscious,
As we allow this experience to really be known,
To share its truth with us,
I invite you to ask why it has shown up now?
Why this feeling of overwhelm is really coming into your experience in this circumstance,
In this moment?
And with this,
Asking yourself what are the beliefs that are carried with it?
So what are the statements or the experiences that are creating the feeling of overwhelm?
So perhaps you are doing something that you've never done before or you are looking to really step into a new role or perhaps shift a relationship or an experience.
And this is bringing up feelings of overwhelm.
So ask yourself what are the beliefs that are holding you in this experience of overwhelm?
What are the beliefs that are causing you to shift back into this original state of fear,
Of limitation,
Of your ego attempting to keep you safe?
One of the beliefs might be that if I put myself out there that I will be judged or perhaps others will feel uncomfortable with this shift.
Perhaps I might even lose friends or I might lose the relationships that I currently do have.
Or perhaps I will feel vulnerable and because I feel vulnerable,
I might not be able to do it.
I won't be safe.
I will be uncomfortable.
I will feel lack and then ultimately lose everything that I've been building.
So look for the beliefs that are underlying the overwhelm,
The feeling of limitation that is coming up.
So really listen to what this overwhelm,
This experience of the ego has to share with you.
Have a really warm and inviting conversation with it.
When you start to really hear what your ego has to share,
When you invite this wisdom,
This experience in to your conscious,
Everything starts to ground.
Everything starts to become more settled.
So you'll feel a bit less taken over by the experience and more present with it.
Your ego really simply desires to be heard,
To be integrated and accepted.
And so when we listen,
When we hear it,
When we have compassion for where these experiences,
Where these beliefs and patterns and habits have come from,
The ego settles.
There is less of a fear response because it understands that it has been heard,
That you are safe,
That you are okay.
And so I invite you to really bring in the feeling of gratitude,
Of inner thankfulness for this gift.
Of overwhelm.
For this reminder to maintain safety and to keep ourselves focused.
And in this feeling of gratitude,
We begin to refocus.
We begin to tap into our original vision again.
So in your mind's eye,
Just as you saw the experience or the situation that created the overwhelm,
Now go back with the intention to see the end vision,
To really see what it is that you truly desire according to your highest values,
According to the higher vision for your life,
Your sole purpose.
And see this so clearly.
See what will make you so deeply grateful.
See how this will serve you and will serve others.
Really tap into the highest vision.
And now begin to ask yourself,
What do I need to do now?
What do I need to do today to stay connected to this highest vision?
And ask yourself,
What do I need to do to take the next step?
What is the next step?
And so allow your highest vision to offer you insight.
Be with this and welcome it in.
And as you begin to find clarity,
As you find direction rooted in your vision and also fully aware of the habits and patterns that have come up in the past that may be causing limitation or discomfort or overwhelm,
We begin to settle into the feeling of deep,
Deep gratitude.
So as you welcome in this next step,
This truth of what it is that you need to focus on now in this present moment and the insight that has been brought forth because of this experience of overwhelm.
We settle into truth.
We find clarity in moving forward.
And remember that you can return to this at any time.
So anytime you begin to feel overwhelm again,
Anytime this discomfort comes up,
You know that it's a sign you need to tap into your unconscious again to find the message,
To find the gift and to refocus.
So rather than playing the game of fear,
Playing the game of overwhelm and getting stuck in it,
You now have the tool needed to really connect with the message behind and to shift into truth.
Let's anchor this meditation,
This experience of presence with three deep breaths again.
Let's anchor this meditation,
This experience of presence with three deep breaths again.
So inhale through the nose,
Exhale audibly out the mouth.
Two more.
Thank you so much for sharing your practice with me today.
Om Manipadme Om.
