Hello,
I am Jasmine and welcome to this practice to ease into your evening.
Often you may be riddled with tasks throughout the day.
You may feel rushed,
Between tasks,
En route to the next place,
Or just feel like if I can hurry and finish this,
I can move on to that.
For this meditation,
Sit and allow yourself to feel at ease.
In this meditation,
Remind yourself you have nowhere to be but here,
Right now.
Find yourself a comfortable seat,
Or lay down in your bed.
And when you are comfortable,
Gently close your eyes.
Begin by noticing your breath,
Your inhales and your exhales,
Each breath deepening until you feel relaxed.
To your next exhale,
Breathe in and hold it for three,
And release.
Inhale again,
Hold,
And release.
Inhale again,
Hold,
And release.
One more time,
Inhale,
Hold,
And release.
Your mind is constantly working,
Reminding you what needs to be done,
How long it will take,
And making you feel a sense of urgency if necessary,
And sometimes even when it's not necessary at all.
Right now,
Allow any thoughts you have of urgency to release.
Be in the moment.
If your thoughts begin to drift,
Allow your breath to be your anchor to the present.
Your inhales and your exhales are what can keep you right here.
Consider this poem by Dana Faulds.
Just for now,
Without asking how,
Let yourself sink into stillness.
Just for now,
Lay down the weight you so patiently bear upon your shoulders.
Will the earth receive you and the infinite expanse of the sky grow even wider as your awareness reaches up to meet it?
Just for now,
Allow a wave of breath to enliven your experience.
Breathe out whatever blocks you from the truth.
Just for now,
Be boundless,
Free,
With awakened energy tingling in your hands and feet.
Drink in the possibility of being who and what you really are,
So fully alive that the world looks different,
Newly born and vibrant.
Just for now,
Allow your body to sink into a deeper relaxation.
Your face is at ease,
Your shoulders are resting,
Your back is at ease,
Your legs are at rest.
There's no tension in your feet or your hands.
Your body is relaxed.
Nobody needs you,
No one is tugging on you,
There isn't anyone leaning on you,
Calling out for you,
Asking you questions,
Requesting your services,
Your help or your thoughts.
It's just you and this moment.
So be still.
As you begin to end this meditation,
Consider what things,
Places,
Tasks can be eliminated,
Rearranged or repurposed to allow you to live each day with more ease.
Take one more deep breath in,
And as you release,
Repeat after me.
There is no need to rush,
What will be,
Will be.
Again,
There is no need to rush,
What will be,
Will be.
Gently open your eyes and welcome yourself back to the space you are in.
If you're preparing for sleep,
Rest well.
Thank you for practicing with me.
