Good morning.
By choosing to kick-start your day with a sense of empowerment,
You have already stepped into your agency.
That decision alone sparks empowerment.
So let's keep this going by using your whole system to enable that empowerment to flow.
If you're not standing up already,
I invite you to rise up and stand purposefully.
Plant your feet on the ground,
Slightly apart,
Perhaps slightly wider than your hip joints,
And then bringing your hands up through prayer position in front of you as you breathe in,
And as your hands reach high above,
You open them wide,
Breathing out,
And bringing your hands round and down to your sides.
Again,
Take an expansive and enlivening breath in as your hands pass through prayer position and up to the skies,
Opening your chest and lifting your chin.
Then breathe out as your hands open wide and circle down to your sides again.
Okay,
Then let your breathing do its thing,
Finding its natural rhythm again.
In that short space of time and simple actions,
You have given your system a helpful dose of adrenaline through your in-breath,
Awakening your system,
And a balancing and grounding dose of acetylcholine on your out-breath.
So with your hormones starting to shift into a mix that supports empowerment,
Let's shift that even more from the ground up,
Focusing on connecting your feet to the floor and anchoring yourself,
And notice how that then upholds your legs,
Which then upholds your hips,
A source of deep power.
And you may want to bend your knees a little and rock your hips gently side to side and backwards and forwards and bring them into the game of empowerment a bit more.
And then straightening your legs again and anchor your hips to uphold your torso,
Bringing an assuredness up through your body.
Place your hands on your hips and roll your shoulders forwards,
Up and back,
Opening up your chest and lifting your chin again slightly.
By flexing the muscles throughout your body and opening up your chest,
You bring into play a particular balance of hormones that increases confidence,
Determination,
Self-esteem,
Trust and cognition,
Empowering you into your day.
So from here,
What do you need to remind yourself about who you are,
What you're capable of,
And how you are going to step into this day?
Declare it out loud from deep within you.
Trust yourself.
You've absolutely got this.
