Today we will do a meditation to relax the shoulders.
Find a comfortable position and begin to settle in.
Close the eyes.
Begin to let go of whatever happened before this moment.
And as best as you can,
Try to set aside anything yet to happen after this moment.
Let's take a deep inhale together.
And exhale,
Let it go.
In the shoulders we carry the weight of the world,
All of our burdens and responsibilities.
And not just our own.
Many of us also carry the burdens and responsibilities of those we love.
Let's bring our awareness to the shoulders.
And with our awareness at the shoulders,
Let's take a deep inhale.
And exhale,
Let it go.
For the next few moments,
Focus on relaxing the shoulders.
Whatever that might mean to you.
Perhaps physically relaxing the shoulders,
Down away from the ears.
Perhaps setting the hands in a different position so the shoulders are more comfortable.
Perhaps moving or wiggling the shoulders around in circular motions.
Perhaps even stretching the neck or turning the head from side to side.
Find a way to let some tension go and then naturally find stillness.
Let's take another breath together.
Deep inhale.
And exhale,
Let it go.
For the next few moments,
Relax.
Let's begin to bring our awareness back to the physical body.
Bring your awareness back to the shoulders.
Notice if the shoulders feel a little more relaxed.
Let's come back to the present moment with a deep inhale together.
And exhale,
Let it go.
Let's open the eyes.
