In today's meditation,
We'll be using the St.
Francis of Assisi prayer.
Let's begin.
Find a comfortable position and settle in.
Close the eyes.
Relax the shoulders.
Relax the jaw.
And relax all the tiny muscles around the eyes.
Let's take a deep inhale together.
And exhale,
Let it go.
Again,
Deep inhale,
Fill the body with breath.
And exhale,
Let it go.
And last time,
Deep breath.
And exhale,
Let it go.
As we journey through this prayer,
Line by line,
Take the time to internalize each line or each word that resonates with you.
The St.
Francis prayer begins like this.
Make me a channel of thy peace,
That where there is hatred,
I may bring love.
Where there is sorrow,
I may bring joy.
Where there is discord,
I may bring harmony.
Where there is error,
I may bring truth.
Where there is wrong,
I may bring the spirit of forgiveness.
Where there is doubt,
I may bring faith.
Where there is despair,
I may bring hope.
Where there is darkness,
I may bring light.
Grant that I should seek rather to comfort than to be comforted.
To understand than to be understood.
To love than to be loved.
For it is by self-forgetting that one finds.
It is by forgiving that one is forgiven.
And it is by dying to the individual self that one awakens to the eternal life.
For the next few moments allow these words to penetrate your heart,
Your mind,
Your soul,
Your spirit.
Begin to bring your awareness back.
Gently blink the eyes open.
Thank you for being here today.
Thank you for meditating.
Have a beautiful day.
