Hello,
My name is Brian Hyman.
I'm sitting with my daughter.
Hi.
That's Lilia.
Lilia,
How old are you?
Five.
Lilia is five.
Today we'd like to do a meditation together for any parents to do with their children.
This can also be done with teachers,
Uncles,
Aunts,
Any adult who would like to meditate with a child.
Let's begin.
Find a comfortable seat and close the eyes.
Take a inhale and exhale.
Again,
Take an inhale.
Take an inhale.
And exhale.
And exhale.
One last time,
Breathing together,
Take an inhale and exhale.
Now as you settle into your seat,
Either sitting cross legged on a chair against a wall or even lying down or sitting on a couch,
Find a comfortable position.
Begin to relax the shoulders.
Relax the jaw.
See if you can let go of any thoughts you may be having of the day.
Thoughts of work,
Thoughts of school,
Thoughts of any responsibilities.
Let's see if we can find this present moment together.
Just a few moments to relax together and breathe together.
We can pick one more time.
.
.
In meditation we find stillness.
We find silence.
We find calm and balance.
And we find connection.
When we meditate alone,
We find these things alone.
But when we meditate with someone else,
We find and share these things together.
Let's take a deep inhale together.
And exhale,
Let it go.
Take another inhale.
And exhale.
Again,
Deep inhale.
Deep inhale.
And exhale.
And exhale.
Now see if you can find a smile.
See if you can open the eyes.
Notice how you feel.
Lillia,
How do you feel?
Good.
Good,
Me too.
Me too.
Do you feel relaxed?
Yeah.
Good.
Meditation is something we can do at any age.
We can do it anytime.
We can do it with anybody.
Thank you for meditating with us.
We'll see you next time.
Bye bye.
Bye.
