
Restful Summer Rain Meditation

Be enveloped in the soothing sounds of nature and Selena's deeply loving words in this meditation designed to guide you into a sweet rest. The guidance ends at 30 minutes, but the relaxing sounds of nature continue for an additional 45 minutes to support resting deeply. There are no ending words or bells.

Can you feel that?
That sweet invitation to rest.
Welcome,
Beloved.
I invite you to get really comfortable,
Whether seated or lying down.
Have whatever props you need,
Whatever comforts to really welcome the body to rest.
And then begin to settle.
Close the eyes.
Feel the jaw soften.
The small muscles around the eyes and the mouth soften as well.
Let's take a deep breath in through the nose.
And then exhale through the mouth with a sigh.
Another deep,
Full breath in.
Exhale through the mouth as the body begins to sink into the support beneath you.
Feel the bones growing heavy.
Consciously begin to relax the body from the tips of the toes all the way up to the crown of the head.
The soothing summer rain guiding us into deeper relaxation.
Reminding us to breathe deeply,
To welcome the healing waters that wash away all that no longer serves.
May today's practice allow you to release that which you are ready to be free of.
Let's take another deep,
Full breath in.
And as you exhale,
Feel the hands and feet relax.
The shoulders,
Chest,
And belly soften.
What do you long for?
What is it that makes you think life will be better when or my life would be better if?
Your life is a gift.
Not just a gift for you to be grateful for,
But that you are the gift.
Your presence is a gift.
Feel the breath moving in and out of the body.
The inhalation gathers up all that you are ready to let go.
And the exhalation frees you from that which no longer serves.
Breathe in.
Feel this accumulation of thoughts,
Emotions,
And behaviors that no longer serve you.
And breathe out as you trust in the release.
It is not necessary for your intellectual mind to even know what you are ready to release.
Your intention,
Your heart naturally frees you from that which no longer serves,
From that which you are ready to be free of.
Feel the sensation of the air moving across your skin.
Is the temperature cool or warm?
Begin to feel as if the whole body is breathing.
Feel yourself settling in deeper and deeper.
Your awareness moving deep inside this magnificent stillness beyond the thoughts,
Beyond the emotions and even the physical body.
A silence.
From this silence,
All answers are known.
From this stillness,
The truth of you is revealed.
From this wisdom deep within,
I invite you to ask,
What is my deepest desire?
Just whatever arises.
And now let us create a sankalpa,
An intention from this desire.
We will create a statement that brings our desire into the present moment,
Brings it to life.
If you wish,
Use the words I am for anything we say after I am comes into manifestation.
For example,
If my deepest desire is to share my gifts with the world,
My sankalpa might be I am joyously sharing my gifts with the world.
Or if my deepest desire is to be in a loving,
Healthy relationship,
My sankalpa might be I am in a healthy,
Loving,
Passionate relationship.
Let's take a few moments for you to create your sankalpa.
And then silently repeat it three times in your mind.
Let us take one more conscious breath together as the body melts a little more.
Become aware of the sounds around you.
Become aware of the sounds deeper inside of the body.
As we move through a rotation of consciousness,
I invite you to remain very still.
As I name each part of the body,
Allow your awareness to move while the body rests in deep stillness.
Feel the sensation of the jaw naturally releasing as your awareness rests upon it.
Become aware of the lips,
Teeth,
Tongue heavy and relaxed.
Feel the nose and cheeks.
Sense the eye sockets,
Eyeballs.
Feel the forehead releasing into the scalp.
Sense the top of the head.
Sense the mouth,
Ears.
Sense the brain softening and relaxing,
Becoming receptive.
Sense the throat and the neck.
The throat center,
This energetic space of expression,
Of speaking our truth begins to release.
Sense the shoulders,
Upper arms,
Elbows.
Feel the forearms,
Both wrists.
Sense the palms of the hands,
Backs of the hands.
Feel both thumbs.
First fingers,
Second fingers,
Third fingers,
Fourth fingers.
Sense both hands.
Bring your awareness to the chest,
The heart center.
Feel the pulsation of energy,
Of light in the heart.
Sense the solar plexus softening.
Feel the belly.
Low back,
Mid back,
Upper back and shoulder blades.
Sense the back of the heart softening.
Become aware of the whole pelvis,
Heavy and supported by the earth.
These energies of creativity,
Sensuality,
Self-worth,
Survival,
Beginning to expand and relax in these lower energetic centers of the body.
I am safe.
I am supported.
Feel the buttocks and both hips.
Lower legs,
Knees,
Lower legs,
Both ankles.
Soles of the feet,
Tops of the feet.
Feel both big toes,
Second toes,
Third toes,
Fourth toes,
Fifth toes.
Become aware of the whole body,
The whole body,
The whole body.
Feel theast surface inside the body.
I amested here.
Recall your sangkulpa.
Gently repeat it in your mind three times.
Waves of letting go flowing through your entire system.
Waves of ease.
Feel the body becoming lighter as if you are held floating in an ocean of light.
In this place there is nothing to be concerned about.
You are supported.
It's okay to simply be.
You are cared for.
It's okay to allow.
Feel the body becoming lighter and lighter.
Weightless,
Weightless,
Gently rocking in this ocean of light.
Imagine the warmth of this cleansing summer rain as it washes over you.
Water gently running down your face.
Offering rebirth.
Offering new life.
Feel yourself in your mind's eye,
Opening your arms to the sky and welcoming life.
You deserve the very best of life.
As this gentle rain washes over you,
Hear and feel your sangkulpa silently repeating inside,
Welcoming this new life.
It's okay to let go.
You are supported.
You are loved.
You are deeply cared for.
It's okay to rest.
It's okay to be.
It's okay to allow.
It's okay to be.
