Manifest Intentions
by Lou Redmond
From his live recording archive, Lou shares a practice that will help you visualize your dream day. During this meditation, you will share compassion for others as well as connect with the intentions you'd like to bring into your life. In the last part of the practice, you will hear the song "Follow The Sun" by Xavier Rudd played in the background.

I'm so excited to share today's practice with you.
If you were with me last week during the silent practice,
You would have heard that I am just getting back from a silent retreat.
So I would not have had time to prepare a new practice for today that's relevant to the week.
So I found an older recording that I did from a while ago and I want to share it with you.
It was actually the first meditation event that I ever hosted back in 2016.
And I found it and I listened to it thinking that I was going to cringe and it was going to be just awful.
And as I listened to it,
I realized it wasn't as bad as I thought.
And of course,
I was super,
Super nervous for it,
But it really wasn't as bad as I thought.
And I thought,
Well,
This is probably a fun thing to share with my Insight community,
Really to show you that when I did this,
I had absolutely zero training in teaching meditation.
I just had something that worked for me and I wanted to share it.
And that's really been the basis of a lot of my teachings thus far,
Even after getting certain trainings.
So I want to share this to tell you and hopefully give you the inspiration that if there's something that you want to do,
To just do it,
To not wait for the permission,
To not wait for the certifications.
If you have something in your heart that's not being a open heart surgeon,
You can probably just start doing that now.
So with that said,
Enjoy this practice.
Again,
It was from 2016.
I was super nervous during it.
Be easy.
There is a lot of breathing that I do into the mic.
So I hope you are kind to me and I hope you actually do enjoy it.
And the intention of manifesting is shown throughout this.
So I hope there is something that this does help you connect with.
And let me know how it goes.
As always in the comments,
I love to hear and connect with you.
Everyone sit up straight on your chair.
And if you're not in a lotus posture on your chair,
Make sure your feet are just flat on the ground,
Like 90 degrees.
If you can get your back off of the back of your chair,
That is going to be ideal.
If it starts hurting and you're losing focus because your back hurts,
Then you can put it back down.
But at least give it a try with your back off.
You can put your hands either facing downward on your knees or up.
Up is more of a receiving gesture.
Downward is a grounding.
So depending on what you might need in your life,
You want to get grounded or you're looking for something,
That might be an option.
And bring your eyes closed.
Start by taking a deep inhale through the nose.
Exhale through the nose.
Inhale through the nose.
And exhale.
Start a steady stream of breath.
With each inhale and exhale,
Growing in sound.
You can start feeling the air come through the nose.
And push it back out.
If you ever get lost in your head,
Thoughts come,
You want to settle back in.
Always just go back to the breath.
Everyone bring their awareness to the tops of their shoulders,
Tops of your shoulders.
With each inhale,
Feel your shoulders rise.
And with each exhale,
Bring that awareness to the back of your neck,
Your head,
And your shoulders.
Feel it rise up and expand.
Come back down on the exhale.
Bring your attention,
Start taking it with each breath down the spine,
Maybe to the center of your back.
And just continue that process of expanding on your inhale,
And then firmly cementing yourself on your exhale.
Keep focusing on your breath.
Now that we have a firm root,
Bring your attention to your heart center.
And with your inhale,
Open up your chest.
And imagine that there is a ball of light right in front of your chest.
With each inhale,
Feel that ball just get a little bit bigger.
Let yourself expand.
With the next inhale,
Feel like that light is now surrounding your body.
With the next inhale,
See it touching the person next to you.
Thoughts come in,
Always come back to your breath.
See the light filling this entire room from your center.
And I want you to now send this light that we've cultivated,
Send some good thoughts and prayers,
Some blessings to someone that you know.
They may not need it or not,
But someone that you care about.
Breathe them in your mind,
Breathe them in your thoughts with this light.
Now that you've sent some love,
Think about that thing maybe you did come here for or a word that you'd like,
Something you'd like to have more than your life.
Maybe it's peace.
Maybe it's love.
Maybe you just want some cool new clothes.
Whatever that is,
Send it out into that light.
And then with your next inhale and exhale,
Wish for every,
All of those things to come for everyone in this room.
And then with your next inhale and exhale,
Whatever that thing is that you thought of,
Maybe you want to find a new job,
A new direction,
You're in a transition in your life.
It probably had something to do with it.
You're looking for more happiness,
More something.
In your mind,
What do you see yourself doing to have that?
Picture some ideal day in,
Let's say it's a year from now.
Whatever you just asked for,
You have that in abundance.
What does that you one year from now look like?
When you wake up,
Where are you?
Who's next to you?
When you walk out your front door,
What do you see?
When you get in your car,
Your motorcycle,
Your truck,
Where are you going?
Don't be afraid to think bigger than what you're thinking now or more amplified than what you're thinking now.
If you get lost,
Just come back to your breath.
You need to reset yourself,
Going throughout your day.
You thought of one year in your ideal state.
Where do you see yourself?
What would three years look like?
Slowly come back to your breath.
Come back to now you in this present moment,
You today.
What can you be grateful for that you have right now?
No matter how far you think you still have to go.
What right now can you show appreciation to?
It's a friend,
Could be something as simple as having socks.
Sometimes we get so focused on not having our ideal life or be stressed and anxious and not realizing that we do have so,
So much.
I'm going to end this meditation with a song.
Continue breathing.
As the song is playing,
Think of what you can do tomorrow,
This week.
What's your intention to bring forth that whatever it is that you want more of.
And when you listen to these words and however they are interpreted to you,
Just get lost in it.
Follow,
Follow the sun.
Which way the wind blows when this day is done.
Breathe,
Breathe in the air.
Set your intentions,
Dream with care.
Tomorrow's a new day for everyone.
A brand new moon and a brand new sun.
Follow,
Follow the sun.
The direction of the birds,
The direction of love.
Breathe,
Breathe in the air.
Cherish this moment,
Cherish this breath.
Tomorrow's a new day for everyone.
A brand new moon and a brand new sun.
When you feel life coming down on you like a heavy weight.
When you feel this crazy society adding to the strain.
Take a stroll to the nearest water's edge,
Remember your place.
Many moons have risen and fallen long,
Long before you came.
Which way is the wind blowing and what does your heart say?
Follow,
Follow the sun.
Which way the wind blows when this day is done.
Whenever you're ready,
Stay in this space as long as you'd like.
Come back to your breath,
Come back to your body.
Open your eyes and come back to this space.
No rush.

This meditation was very helpful in getting me started on a project that Iโve put off for 10 months out of fear and striving for perfection. I just went and did what I needed to do as I was -and it wasnโt perfect...the next day...new doors of opportunity opened!!! Thank you thank you

Really liked this one! Youโve for sure come a long way, but the message in this is loud and clear, and just what I needed tonight ๐ really liked ending with a song to reflect, would love to see that in the future every now and then, or maybe ending with some of your poetry! :)

Hey Lou, I loved this meditation thank you so much for sharing. I too teach meditation but I tend not to record my own (as I strive for the perfect audio) youโve taught me to let that go as sometimes the imperfection of something adds to its authenticity - namaste โค๏ธ Helen xx

Trank you so very much. Your introduction to the recording i found very inspiring - showing the path, the development in such a self loving calm way. For me the intro makes the meditation itself even profounder because it shows how YOU have manifested. You practice what you preach โค๏ธ The meditation is for me, who love to listen to your other meditations as well, fragile (nervousness, breath) but true and yet very strong - I really feel your Intension. I clearly now what I want to manifest - and Iโm doing it all really. โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
