This is Justin Michael Williams and welcome to your practice.
Together.
Beyond identity,
We come together.
And this is how we're going to wake up the world.
I invite you to place your hands over your heart.
And if you feel comfortable,
Close your eyes.
And deepen your breath.
We want to get to a point where we are advocating for each other.
Where we recognize our similarities more than we pay attention to our differences.
Where a struggle that someone is facing from another community or another identity or another country.
Affects us just as much as it was if it was our own family member.
When we come together.
We have the power to create big change.
Because together,
We're the majority.
Deepen your breath even more.
We're going to explore in this practice one of my favorite mantras.
I am you.
You are me.
We are we.
I commit to thee.
Try it with me.
I am you.
You are me.
We are we.
I commit to thee.
Again.
I am you.
You are me.
We are we.
I commit to thee.
And now I invite you to think of a community whose struggle you don't really understand.
If there's another ethnic group or identity or social group of person who you've heard maybe on the news or online or you've seen something about the things they're fighting for,
Struggle they're going through.
But you don't really get it.
We haven't really even taken the time to fully understand why they're fighting or why they're struggling.
And what you call that community into your mind right now.
And imagine you're sitting face to face with a member of that community.
And just let whatever arises in your mind appear.
Anything that arises is exactly right.
Exactly what you need for this practice.
Notice what they look like.
What body position are they in?
What expression do they have on their faces they look into your eyes.
What color are they wearing?
What color is their hair?
What color are their eyes?
What color are their shoes if they're wearing any?
Just let your mind create it without worrying or trying to filter what arises.
Just let your mind create the vision that you need for this practice.
Trust it.
And now looking into their eyes,
May we all repeat this mantra together.
I am you.
You are me.
We are we.
I commit to thee.
I am you.
You are me.
We are we.
I commit to thee.
I am you.
You are me.
We are we.
I commit to thee.
Last time.
I am you.
You are me.
We are we.
I commit to thee.
Take a deep breath in.
And out.
And just feel that.
Together.
Together.
We rise.
Together.
Open your eyes if you feel like you're breathing.
Open your eyes if you feel ready or you can just linger here for a little while.
And it is a great honor to practice with you today.
I send you love,
Unity,
And the biggest blessings.
Namaste.
