Hello and welcome to day one of Insight Timer's Intention Setting Challenge.
My name is Justin Michael Williams and it really is my honor to start this new year with you and I'm so glad you're showing up for yourself in this way.
You know,
There's something really sacred about the moment you choose to begin again.
And not begin again meaning everything will always be perfect,
But begin again meaning you have the power to set intentions for the energy you are bringing to this year.
And last year may have lifted you or it may have challenged you or maybe it did some of both like it did for me.
But right now in this moment,
You get to start fresh and a fresh start is not about erasing the past.
It's about releasing the past from having a grip on your future.
Because we can't control everything that's going to come this year,
But you can choose how you meet whatever comes.
And what science shows is that real change doesn't happen in one dramatic leap.
It happens in the small moments in the energy you commit to bringing to each day in the little choices that you make.
And so every day for this challenge,
We'll spend a few short minutes to get quiet and we'll set a single but powerful intention to carry you in to your day.
And if you show up consistently to this challenge,
I think you're going to have your best year yet.
So let's begin with a simple and powerful intention.

Let's dive into a short practice together.
Go ahead and close your eyes and let your hands rest gently on your thighs,
Palms facing up if you can.
A gesture of openness.
And now go ahead and take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
Settle in.
And imagine a bubble floating softly in front of you.
Give it any color that you want.
And inside this bubble,
Place all of the experiences you had from this last year into the bubble.
The joy,
The mistakes,
The lessons,
The victories,
All of it into the bubble.
And now in a moment,
We're going to pop this bubble.
And you don't have to worry because you're not throwing anything away or forgetting anything.
All of the lessons and the memories and the growth are always inside of you.
But we're releasing the energy of any experience that has a hold on who you are becoming next.
So we'll take three breaths together to pop this bubble.
And on the third breath,
I want you to imagine a ray of light coming down and popping the bubble,
Clearing the space around you.
Ready?
Go ahead and inhale.
Hold it.
And let it out.
Breath one.
Again,
Inhale.
Hold it.
Let it out.
Breath two.
And now inhale.
Hold it.
And now exhale.
Light drops in.
The bubble pops.
The energy dissolves.
And feel this release.
You deserve it.
And as you step into the rest of your day,
Please rest in this clean slate.
Let it soften the pressure you put on yourself.
Let it open the possibilities that are in front of you this year.
And remember our group intention.
