Winter Solstice: The Winter Solstice marks the longest night of the year — a sacred pause in the natural world, and a powerful turning point within us. For thousands of years, cultures across the world have honoured this moment as a time of rest, reflection, and quiet renewal. From this day forward, the light begins its gradual return.
For many people, winter can feel emotionally and energetically challenging. Shorter days, reduced daylight, and colder weather can bring lower mood, fatigue, or a sense of heaviness often associated with Seasonal Affective Disorder. If you experience this, you are not alone — and there is nothing wrong with you. Winter asks us to slow down, not to struggle through.
This two-day Winter Solstice course is a gentle sanctuary designed to support you through the darkest days of the year while offering warmth, reassurance, and hope. Rooted in the symbolism of the Solstice and supported by modern understanding of light, mood, and the nervous system, this course invites you to move with the season rather than against it.
On Day One, The Longest Night, we honour stillness. Through grounding breathwork, reflective practices, and a deeply soothing winter visualisation, you are guided to release what feels heavy and allow yourself to rest. This session offers compassion for winter low mood and permission to soften into the quiet wisdom of the dark.
On Day Two, Return of the Light, we gently welcome warmth and brightness back into the body and mind. With uplifting breath practices, supportive tips for SAD, and a sunrise visualisation rooted in Solstice symbolism, you are invited to reconnect with your inner light and carry a sense of hope forward into the season.
Each session includes thoughtful research, practical winter wellbeing tips, immersive visualisations, reflections, affirmations, and a nurturing closing — all designed to support emotional balance, nervous system regulation, and inner calm during winter.
You can return to this course throughout the season, allowing it to meet you exactly where you are. The Winter Solstice reminds us that darkness is not an ending — it is a pause before renewal.
The light is already returning. And within you, it has never gone out.
