In lesson one we’ll look at what it means to live outside your comfort zone and the science of comfort zones. This is an engaging foundation to the course, as we delve into the fascinating science that explains why we have comfort zone and why we often want to live beyond them.

Why Don't We Always Live Outside Our Comfort Zone
If it’s so great, living beyond our comfort zone, why don’t we always live there? One of the reasons is: Fear. As human beings, fear is wired into us. Fight or flight. False evidence appearing real. Fear vs. Love. No matter how you characterize it, fear keeps us from pushing through our comfort zone. In today's lesson, we will get to the crux of why you are afraid. Together we’ll look at your, sometimes life long, fears. Journaling is incorporated in this lesson.

Belief
It is our beliefs that shape our lives, keep us afraid, and keep us stuck. These beliefs that we hold dear, are sometimes beliefs that aren’t even our own. In this lesson we'll explore your beliefs and why you believe what you believe. In order to live outside of your comfort zone you have to get unstuck and move forward in your life on your own terms. In this lesson you will be led through a fun exercise that will shed light on some of your core beliefs and help you to operate firmly grounded in your personal core beliefs.

Essence
In this lesson, you will gain newfound confidence and excitement in your life. Especially, now that you have an understanding of what you believe vs. what others have taught you to believe. You’re ready to tap into your true beliefs, your true essence. In today's lesson you will answer the question: What is the truth of who I am? It is in answering this question that you are able to live outside of your comfort zone with a newfound confidence and excitement.

Love
Let’s focus on your heart. Merriam Webster defines Self-Love as holding yourself dear, cherishing yourself, feeling regard for your own happiness. The kinder you are to your Self, the easier it becomes to bust through blocks and barriers that keep you stuck. Fear isn’t your primary motivator, love is. You let go. You might give yourself slack, but it’s truly okay to make mistakes. In this lesson, you’ll write a love letter to yourself.

Listen To Your Intuition
Listen. The more you love and appreciate yourself, the easier it is to listen to your inner voice– your intuition. In this lesson you’ll practice listening in. Stop looking for answers outside of yourself. The answers lives in you. In your heart. In your gut. In this lesson you’ll ask your inner guidance system for direction.

Find Your Why
When you know your purpose it becomes almost impossible to not live outside of your comfort zone and it is the voice of your inner GPS that guides you to your why, or your purpose. To that spark of desire, the smoldering ember that you light in your belly. That is the fire that fuels you, that which fuels your desire and your drive to succeed. In this lesson you’ll light your own fire in a beautifully enlivening guided meditation.

Write Your Life
Writing is powerful. Think of it like a vision board on steroids. If you want to create the life of your dreams, then write it down. In this lesson you’ll write. Carolyn will share some of the science behind why writing is so powerful and teach you some techniques so that as you write, you will feel as if your intention has already happened. This is a very powerful and inspiring practice.

Letting Go & Trusting
According to Buddha, one of the causes of human suffering is attachment. It’s time to let go and trust. You’ve written your intention, you feel it in your body as if it has already unfolded. You know that if you ask, you shall receive. That’s what you have to do now, receive. Let go of your should’s. Let go of how you think it is supposed to happen. Let go and receive. In this lesson Carolyn will teach you how to use writing to help you let go and trust.

Next Right Action
Just do it. In this lesson you will take a step and break through the walls of your comfort zone. You have the opportunity to put everything you’ve learned into your next right action. You will take a step that will empower you and move you closer to the life you have always dreamed of living. This right action will be something personal, something that you will know in your gut, because you will ask the question and receive the answer from within. From today, you will have the opportunity to begin to practice all the lessons you’ve learned and in whatever order suits you. You have broken through your barriers and are now living outside of your comfort zone!
