In this meditation,
You're going to have the opportunity to practice being,
To practice trusting,
Trusting in the outcome,
Trusting that you're doing it right,
And trusting yourself.
Sometimes in life we try hard to do a certain thing or to be a certain way,
Whether to fit in with a group,
To try to get something right.
And it is in the trying where we trip ourselves up,
Where we find that we move off course,
Away from where we want to be rather than arriving at our destination.
It is in the trying to be perfect,
To be right,
To be the best,
To be noticed,
That we act from our ego.
It is in the trying that we're tight,
We're constricted,
We're working way too hard.
What might happen if you stopped trying?
Stop trying to be the best.
Stop trying to be perfect.
Stop trying to not make any mistakes and just started doing.
You'd be acting from your heart space.
You'd be letting your heart be your guide.
And it is in this,
The letting go of the trying and doing from your heart space,
Where you actually create space for miracles to come into your life.
Let's practice that now.
Just being.
Just being yourself.
Being at peace with and within yourself.
Comfortable where you are in this moment.
Begin by getting comfortable.
You may want to sit or lie down.
Close your eyes and take in a deep breath through your nose and gently release it through your nose.
Taking another deep breath through your nose,
Gently releasing it through your nose.
This is your time.
Time you're giving yourself.
You're giving yourself permission to just be.
You're giving yourself this gift of presence and awareness of being here now in this moment.
Start to relax your body,
Beginning with your feet.
Allow a feeling of relaxation to fill your feet.
Heavy,
Relaxed.
Relax your ankles.
Your calves and your shins.
Relax your knees.
Allow this feeling to move up to your upper legs.
Let the muscles of your legs completely go.
Feel them sinking into the ground beneath you.
Completely relaxed.
Relax your hips and your pelvis.
Relax all the surrounding muscles.
Feel your stomach.
Melt and relax.
Feel your lower back muscles relaxing,
Letting go,
Giving up their hold.
Feel that relaxation move up your spine.
Feel it through the muscles of your upper back.
From your stomach up through your chest to your collarbones,
Sinking into the ground beneath you.
And your shoulders smoothing down.
And this relaxed feeling spreading down your arms,
Through your elbows,
Into your forearms,
Into your hands,
Out into your fingers.
Your body sinking,
Relaxing,
Heavy and still.
And this warm relaxation moving up into your neck,
Any tension melting away the muscles,
Relaxing.
And your throat.
Opening,
Relaxing.
Your jaw loosens.
That relaxation spreads up through your whole head.
Your eyes float in their sockets.
Your brow softens.
Your body is completely relaxed.
Feel into this relaxed state,
This heaviness,
This beingness.
Drift your attention to your breath.
Witness your breath.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Follow your breath to your heart space.
Breathing in,
Heart beating.
Breathing out,
Heart beating.
Your breath,
Your heartbeat,
These are the constants of your life.
The miracle of your heart,
The miracle of your breath.
Now breathe into the miracle of this moment where you are not trying,
You're just being.
Being your breath.
Being your heartbeat.
Notice what it feels like.
This moment of being.
Free of worry.
But instead filled with trust,
Knowing your heart will beat and you will breathe in and out.
You know you will breathe.
You know your heart will pump beautiful life force through your body.
You don't try.
Your heart and your breath just do it.
And all you have to do is be.
What might change if you could feel the same kind of faith,
The same kind of trust in other areas of your life?
How might your life be different?
I invite you now to think of something beautiful and unexpected that has happened in your life.
Something that occurred,
A happy surprise,
Or something that went differently than you thought it would,
But turned out even better.
And all this happened without you trying to make it happen.
Maybe there's a time where something you wanted,
Something you wished for,
Something you desired came to you as if by magic,
Without the trying and the struggle of the ego,
But with the open and spacious ease of the heart.
You didn't try.
You just went about your life.
You were being in your life.
And you received.
You received what you were meant to receive.
Really feel into this experience,
The magic of this experience,
Into the trust and knowingness and beingness of receiving something beautiful,
Something unexpected,
While you were just living in your life,
While you were just being in your life.
This practice of being,
This trust,
This beat of your heart,
This breath,
Your breath,
All without thinking or trying.
Remember this as you move through your day today.
Remember the magic and the miracles of beingness in your life.
What if for today you didn't have to try?
All you had to do was be in your life.
Be with your heart and be with your breath.
When you feel ready,
You can bring your focus back to your heart and back to your breath and eventually back to any sounds in the room.
And when you feel ready,
Open your eyes and as you move through your day,
Remember this feeling,
The space that you know how to create to let magic and miracles into your life.
