So I'd like to suggest a very simple practice today.
We're going to sit with gratitude.
So to begin with as you're settling in,
Settling into the body.
Just letting the eyes be soft and kind.
Triggering your inner awareness to also be soft and kind.
So we have a soft,
Warm,
Receptive field of attention filling the body.
Just resting as it observes the soft waves of the breathing.
Sweeping through the body.
Meeting everything with warmth.
Just checking to make sure that you're aware of the heart.
Just breathing with whatever's present in the heart.
And just remember what it's like to be appreciative.
Just seeing if you can let yourself be aware of everything that's arising.
With appreciation.
With gratitude.
With an open,
Thankful heart.
Maybe as you're sitting here,
Observing the rise and fall of the breathing,
You could feel that you are grateful for everything.
Whatever is most prominent in your attention in any given moment,
Just recognizing it as something to be grateful for.
You don't have to do anything to feel grateful,
You don't have to say thank you.
You don't have to think about what benefits something brings you.
Just receiving whatever is arising with gratitude.
Whatever is arising with gratitude.
It can be a quiet experience.
You're not trying to make anything happen.
You're just being.
Just being with gratitude.
So for the rest of this period of practice,
Until you hear the bell,
Continue to just be grateful.
